PowerHA SystemMirror High Availability management stack consists of
three key components. Those are listed below:
|

Packages |
1 |
PowerHA SystemMirror |
PowerHA packages |
2 |
Cluster Aware AIX (CAA) |
AIX packages |
3 |
RSCT |
AIX packages |
Above components are delivered as part of
PowerHA & AIX Technology Levels (TLs) and Service Packs (SPs). These deliveries are done over the course of
the year during scheduled dates. For issues discovered between these delivery
points, IBM support provides IFIXes to customer. This
page highlights any known such IFIXes that have not
been released yet in Service Packs.
This page lists IFIX Bundles and IFIX
information that are considered important for PowerHA deployments. Please
review and consider installing the IFIX Bundles for the level of AIX
and PowerHA in your environment. Note that there are IFIX Bundles for
both AIX (CAA and RSCT) and PowerHA in some cases. Note that in some
cases Fix bundles are not available and instead only APAR numbers are mentioned.
In those cases, please reach out to IBM support to obtain the ifixes for these APARs. You can apply these ifixes after the fix bundle from this page has been applied
for a particular component.
Following
levels are recommended. Once you have installed the chosen level, apply the
IFIX Bundles defined in the later sections of this document.

Note PowerHA SystemMirror
7.1.3 was released nearly 5 years back and will reach end of support in April
2018. If possible please consider PowerHA
7.2.1 as release level to be used. In regards to
AIX, AIX 7.1.4 or above are recommended.
Note that you could perform Non disruptive upgrade from PowerHA 7.1.3 to 7.2.1
release (if you have right version of AIX installed). Refer to video clip
related to non-disruptive upgrade here: Video Clip for

PowerHA SystemMirror
v6 to v7 migration is a major migration and a special migration assistant tool clmigcheck is shipped as part of AIX to evaluate
and assist customers to plan for their migration.
Since some network environment requirements are
different in v7 Cluster aware AIX(CAA) as compared to v6 environment,
potentially migration could fail if the network is not setup correctly. There
are guidelines regarding the various setup requirements at the following
location: PowerHA
v6 to v7 migration guidelines
clmigcheck has been
enhanced to have these checks inbuilt so that during migration it can alert the
customer about any missing network setup and other aspects. All these checks
are available as an ifix. This AIX IFIX bundle needs
to be applied on AIX once the AIX migration is complete to the new level chosen
as the target level.
Download
and install clmigcheck related IFIX from the
following location before starting PowerHA v7 install and migration procedures:

This section captures the important
fix bundles and fix information applicable to PowerHA environments. Note if there is no critical
fix for an SP, then there will be no fix bundle published for it (will be
marked as None). That also means that all
fixes that were in bundles are now in official Service Packs that are GA. Also there
are no fix bundles available for older non-recommended AIX service packs
(Marked as NR).
Note that table contains links to
Fix bundles when available. Table also contains list of APARs in some cases. These APARs are considered important for
PowerHA SystemMirror stack and you would need to
reach IBM support to obtain ifixes for these APARs.
Once you have downloaded the FIX
bundle for your level, please follow the readme instructions associated with
the IFIX bundle.
CAA and RSCT IFIX bundles
need to be applied first before applying the PowerHA IFIX bundle. CAA IFIX bundles would
require reboot of LPAR after updates are applied.
