Search for assets by using basic keywords. You can also
use different search query terms and operators to refine your searches.
About this task
The primary method of finding assets
is to search by using a keyword search, which compares keywords to
information in the following sources of information about an asset:
- Names
- Descriptions and short descriptions
- Ratings
- Communities
- Categories
- Attributes and custom attributes
- Tags
- Artifacts, or files within assets
Procedure
- In the IBM® Rational® Asset Manager web
client, click Assets.
- Type keywords into the search field; then, click Search
for assets
. Results
for your search query will appear.
- Optional: To filter your search results using
filters and tags, in the sidebar, click the name of any filter or
tag. If your repository has many categories, asset types,
asset lifecycle states, or communities, click the View
more link for a type of metadata, and then type keywords
in the Filter field to see a list of filters
that contain those keywords. As you click filters
or tags, the results will update. For example, if you click the filter
for the asset type Business solution, the results
will only show assets of the Business solution asset type.
- Change the scope of your search by
clicking the Change search scope menu.
