Lesson 5: Submitting an asset into the community lifecycle

Extend the basic functionality of a community lifecycle into a customized lifecycle for an asset to manage review processes.
You must have asset creation privileges to modify an asset lifecycle.
  1. Click Assets and Submit an Asset.
  2. Enter the asset name Presentation Asset.
  3. Enter version 1.0.
  4. Select a community.
  5. Select the asset type Documentation.
  6. Enter the short description An asset containing a sales and marketing presentation.
  7. In the Content tab, click Browse and select a presentation file to attach as an artifact to this asset.
  8. Optional: In the Description tab, enter a long description for the asset.
  9. In the Categories tab, select the following categorizations:
    1. Software Development > Organization > IBM > Software Group > Rational
    2. Software Development > Documentation > Content > Sales and Marketing
    3. Software Development > Documentation > Content > Slides
  10. Click Save as Draft. On saving, the asset is checked for a unique name.
When the asset is submitted, it is checked for a unique name and given a lifecycle based on the parameters set at the community level for this asset type and set of categorizations. The community lifecycle is ready to be customized for this particular asset.
