You can attach files or URL
links as artifacts to an asset. If you attach new artifacts to the
asset and a review process is available, you must submit the asset
into the review process to have the updated asset artifacts reviewed.
Before you begin
To add artifacts to an asset, you must be creating
a new asset,
or have imported an existing asset into your workspace. To import
an asset into your workspace, see
Importing assets.
Procedure
- To add files to an asset, in the Contents page of
the Asset
Editor view, click Add.
- In
the Add or Remove Contents window, select the files
from your workspace that you want to add and click OK. You can add individual files, folders, or entire projects.
- Optional: add URL artifacts to the asset.
- Click Add URL.
- In the Add URL Artifact window, type a name
for the
artifact. The name will be an alias for the URL.
- In the URL field, copy and paste
the web address to use as an artifact.
- Optional:
If you want to save a local copy of the URL's
content on the repository (in order to search the content), select Cache
URL content. If you want to allow users to
download that local copy, select Allow content to be downloaded.
- In the Contents page of the
Asset Editor, verify that the
selected files are the ones that you want to include in the asset. To add information to artifacts, open the Problems table. In
the content page of the asset, add the required artifacts or the appropriate
artifact labels.
- Optional or if required
by the asset type: Enter a label
for each artifact to give other users specific information about a
file. For example: Start here, Deprecated,
or Primary example. You might need
to add a label to artifacts to satisfy the requirements of an asset
type. If an asset type requires specific information about artifacts,
the asset will be displayed in your workspace in draft form and a
red error message will be displayed. To add a label:
- Click in the label column for the corresponding artifact.
A text box opens.
- Type a label in the
text box.
