Advanced searching for assets

You can search for assets in the web client by using advanced search strings.

About this task

The primary method of finding assets is to search by using a keyword search, which compares keywords to information in the following sources of information about an asset:
  • Names
  • Descriptions and short descriptions
  • Ratings
  • Communities
  • Categories
  • Attributes and custom attributes
  • Tags
  • Artifacts, or files within assets

Advanced search strings allow you to be more specific in your search queries.

If you are familiar with the advanced search syntax, you can type advanced search queries directly into the search field. You can also generate advanced search queries.

Procedure

  1. In the IBM® Rational® Asset Manager web client, click Assets.
