Associating assets

You can create a relationship between the asset that you are publishing and other assets in the repository. These relationships can be used to meet dependencies and avoid errors when publishing an asset to WebSphere® Service Registry and Repository.

About this task

On the Associate page of the Publish wizard, you can associate the artifacts that you are publishing with other artifacts. By associating assets, you can publish artifacts of certain types without publishing other dependent assets. For example, by creating a relationship between a WSDL file that you want to publish and an XSD file that exists in WebSphere Service Registry and Repository, you can publish the WSDL without having to simultaneously publish the XSD.

Relationships that you define in the Associate page of the Publish wizard are maintained on the WebSphere server.
