Use the Asset Management perspective to work with your Rational® Asset
Manager assets.
In the Rational Asset Manager Eclipse client, you
can use the Asset Management perspective and its associated views
to work with assets.
The following views are associated with the Asset Management perspective:
Problems:
Displays the number of errors, the types of errors, other information
associated with errors, and asset validation errors.
Properties:
Displays the property names and basic properties of a selected resource.
View the assets in a specific repository and the properties of the
repositories, including tasks, tags, user information, and general
asset information.
Navigator: Displays
all of the resources in your workspace.
Asset Explorer: Displays
all of the assets, the versions of the assets, and the URL artifacts
that are in your workspace. To overwrite an asset with the latest
update from the server, right-click the asset and select Re-import.
Asset
Repositories: Displays all of the repository connections
that you have created. For each repository connection, you can view
the following characteristics:
- Assets
- Asset details including owners, modified dates, short description,
community, and ratings
- Tags. In the My Tags section, click a tag to see search results
for that tag.
- Tasks. In the My Tasks section, double click a task to resolve
the task in the web client.
- Downloaded assets
View, create, and delete subscriptions to assets and import them
into your workspace. Begin a batch update task to or from any active
connection that is listed in this view.
Asset Search:
Use this view to find assets by typing a search string into the keyword
search field. Use the Filters and Tag Cloud sections to apply filters
to a search.
Assets: Displays your search
results. Browse, import, or add an asset or a group of assets to a
batch update task.
Outline: Displays
asset details in an outline that includes forums and all of the topics.
While
working in the Asset Management perspective, use the Asset Editor.
The Asset Editor has two modes: edit and read-only.
Note: If you import
a remote asset from WebSphere Service Registry and Repository, you
cannot edit the asset.
The editor has the following
pages:
- General Details: general information, such
as title, community membership, and description.
- Contents: the artifacts of the asset.
- Categories: the categorization for the
asset.
- Related Assets: assets that are related
to the asset and how the assets are related.
- Review: a log of comments, approvals, and
rejections for all states of the asset.
- Ratings: the various ratings and feedback
about an asset.
- Discussion: discussions about an asset
from forums and comments.
- Statistics: asset statistics, such as search
queries and download activity.
