When you find an IBM Rational ClearCase® Unified
Change Management (UCM) asset and want to modify its contents, import
the asset into your workspace.
Before you begin
Before you complete this task, you must have an active Rational
ClearCase UCM repository connection.
Procedure
- In the Assets view, right-click the asset and then click Import.
- Import the asset from Rational ClearCase UCM by using the
SCM adapter.
- Select Import files through SCM.
- Specify how to import the content:
- For the latest content on the branch that the asset was
submitted from, select Import latest from current branch.
- For content that is on another branch, select Import
from other existing branches and type the name of the
branch.
Restriction: Although file versions can be in different
branches, an asset can have artifacts from only one branch.
- Click OK.
- In the Select Shared Folder window, click Browse and
select a shared folder on the network.
- Enable permissions so that other users can access the folder
over the network. To share a folder:
- Right-click the folder and select Properties.
- In the properties window, click the Sharing tab.
- Define the share name and then define full control for
authenticated users.
- Click OK.
Results
The asset is imported into your workspace.
What to do next
If necessary, update the
files. Then, create a baseline and submit the asset to the repository
and the UCM integration stream:
- Check in the changes to your development stream.
- Deliver the changes from your development stream to the integration
stream.
- Create an integration stream baseline.
- Rebase your development stream view.
- Submit your view.
