Specify the location of the help and documentation web
applications. The first setting is for both context-sensitive help
and online documentation for the Rational® Asset
Manager web application; the second setting is for the Asset-based
Development process documentation.
Before you begin
To specify the location of the documentation,
you must be a repository administrator. If you use IPV6, use the
IPV6 hostname; an IPV6 address will not work.
Procedure
- Log in to the web application.
- Click Administration.
- Click Configuration.
- Locate the Documentation Path section on the Configuration
page.
- For the Information Center, if the help and documentation
web application is on the same server as the server application, check Use
default. Otherwise, clear the Use default check
box and type the URL for the help web application; for example, http://server.com:port/ram.help.
- For the Asset-based Development process documentation,
if the web application is on the same server as the server application,
check Use default. Otherwise, clear the Use
default check box and type the URL for the web application;
for example, http://server.com:port/com.ibm.ram.repository.web/abdprocess. This web application is separate from the help web application.
- Click Save.
What to do next
Whether you install the documentation web application on
the same server or a different server, the public information center
content is loaded automatically into the application. If you do not
have internet access or prefer to install the help plugins, from the
help server you can open the Local Help Updater with the URL
http://127.0.0.1:port/help/updater/updatewar.jsp and
install the plugins.
To change the help preferences, open the URL http://server.com:port/ram.help/remote/remotehelp.jsp.
