Page title:Welcome to the web client

Closed Captioning text:Welcome to the Rational Asset Manager web client. All users can use the web client to find and retrieve assets that they can reuse. Administrators for the repository use this client to configure the application and manage assets, governance models, and communities. Community administrators can manage users, create custom lifecycles and reviews, and control access to assets in their community. Managers can view statistics and reports to see trends in how others are finding and using assets.

In the tag cloud, click tag names to list all assets with that tag, or you can add or remove filters for asset types, categories, and communities. As you enter keywords and add or remove tags or filters, the search results continuously update. You can also use Visual Browse to see relationships between assets.

Page title:Creating asset lifecycles and reviews

Closed Captioning text:To make sure that the assets in a community are useful and accurate, administrators and lifecycle managers can define a review process called a lifecycle. Master lifecycles are created at the repository level. These lifecycles define the states for an asset, such as Draft, Approved, and Retired. Master lifecycles are customized further at the community level and even further at the asset level. For each state, define who can see, edit, and review an asset and the conditions that must be met before the asset can move to a different state in the lifecycle. Select approvers to approve, reject, or comment on an asset in a given state.
