Disabling repository libraries

To remove all the contained assets and metadata from active use on the repository, you can disable a repository library. Then, no other users can search for or reuse the disabled assets or metadata.

Before you begin

To work with repository libraries, you must be a repository administrator.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Rational® Asset Manager web client as a repository administrator.
  2. Click Administration.
  3. In the Repository Administration sidebar, click Libraries. The Libraries page opens. By default, all libraries on the repository are shown. To see only enabled libraries, click View Enabled.
  4. To open the library that you want to disable, click the version number of the library.
  5. In the Library Actions sidebar, click Disable.
  6. To verify that you want to disable the library and remove any assets or asset metadata from the repository, click Disable. If elements in the library that you are disabling are associated with other libraries that are enabled, the element will not be removed from the repository.

Results

Assets and asset metadata in the library are no longer active on the repository; users will not be able to find and reuse them.

What to do next

You can enable a library again to bring its assets or metadata back into active use on the repository.
