Creating queries of Rational ClearQuest records

You can create queries of Rational® ClearQuest® records from the Rational Asset Manager web application.

Before you begin

When you create these types of queries, you create links to the list of reports, records, or charts that relate to specific assets, which are defined in Rational ClearQuest. For specific assets, you can create queries to list applicable record types. Examples of these include a list of open defects for an asset, customer contacts that use this asset, or a list of defects over time.

You can create as many queries as you need to for an asset forum.

These queries are used by users when they are working in a forum topic and want to open an appropriate record that is linked from the topic to a Rational ClearQuest record.

Forum administrators define queries to have a relationship to existing forum configuration mappings with Rational ClearQuest. After creating these queries, both forum administrators and asset owners can choose to display any or all of the defined queries in the discussion forums for a specific asset. Forum administrators must create as many queries as necessary to ensure that both forum administrators and asset owners have enough choices to fulfill the demands of users who want to access all of the Rational ClearQuest records that are pertinent for an individual asset.

You must have the community administrator role to add a new connection, and there must be a forum mapping configuration for the community.
