Prioritizing lifecycles across a community

An asset can belong to only one lifecycle. If a community has multiple lifecycles and the assets in that community meet the conditions for more than one lifecycle, the priority of lifecycles for that community determine which lifecycle applies to the assets.

Before you begin

To change the priority of custom lifecycles, you must be a community administrator or a repository administrator.

About this task

An asset can use only one lifecycle. If an asset meets the conditions of multiple lifecycles, the only lifecycle that applies to that asset is the first lifecycle in top-to-bottom order on the Lifecycles tab for a community.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the web application.
  2. Click Administration.
  3. Click the name of the community.
  4. Click Master Lifecycles.
  5. In the Lifecycles section, use the up and down arrows Up and Down arrows for Lifecycles that are next to the names of lifecycles to change the order of the lifecycles. Lifecycles are prioritized in top-to-bottom order.
  6. Repeat Step 5 until the lifecycles are prioritized in the order that you want.
