Finding assets by using filters

You can view filters in the Filter section of the Assets view. Different filters are displayed depending on the assets that are in the search results. As you filter your search, you can apply and remove any combination of filters. Narrow your search for an asset by using filters for community, asset type, state, categories or subcategories, or rating.

About this task

When searching for an asset with filters, you might need to request access to a community or request permission to view an asset. If an asset is locked and inactive, request access by clicking the icon in the Search Results view toolbar with the asset and key. The community administrator will evaluate the appropriate permissions for your role.

Procedure

To assign or remove filters:

  1. To open the Asset Search view, in the menu bar click Window > Show View > Asset Search.
  2. Click the Filters tab to bring it to the front of the view.
  3. Click the filters to apply them to the search. Click on a category to apply the category filter. Then choose any of the subcategories that are displayed to continue to filter deeper within the category schema.
Note: The numbers in parentheses indicate how many assets of that filter exist in the repository.
  4. Any filters that you have applied to search results are listed in the Asset Search view below the Search field. To remove a filter, click the name of the filter.
