For server applications that use the IBM® Jazz™ friend
specification, such as IBM Rational® Team Concert,
you can add the IBM Rational Asset Manager server
as an external friend. By adding the server as an external friend
server, you can place OpenSocial gadgets from the Rational Asset Manager application
in an OpenSocial container on the Jazz server.
Before you begin
- You must be an administrator on the Jazz server.
- You must have the root services URI for the Rational Asset Manager server.
The URI is http://host_name:port/Rational_Asset_Manager_context_root/rootservices.
For example: http://example.com:9080/ram/rootservices.
- To approve the external friend server in Rational Asset Manager,
you must be a repository administrator.
About this task
If you are configuring the
integration with Jazz servers and you need the
Rational Asset Manager server
to request information from the Jazz server,
see
Adding IBM Jazz servers as friend servers.
Procedure
- In the
administrative section of the Jazz server
or a server that uses the Jazz friend
specification, add the Rational Asset Manager server
as an external friend. For more information, see the product
documentation for establishing friend servers.
If you
have administrative access to the Jazz server,
you can add the
Rational Asset Manager server
as an external friend server.
For example, depending on your setup, the process to add
an external friend server might be as follows:
- In the Admin section of the Jazz server,
click the Server tab.
- In the Configuration pane, click Cross-Server
Communication. Alternatively, in the Communication pane,
click Friends (Outbound) or External
Friends and then click Add.
- In the Title field, type a descriptive
name to describe the Rational Asset Manager server.
- In the Root Services URI field, type the
root services URI for the Rational Asset Manager server,
which is http://host_name:port/Rational_Asset_Manager_context_root/rootservices.
For
example: http://example.com:9080/ram/rootservices.
- In the Consumer or OAuth secret field
and the Re-type secret field, type a consumer
secret.
- Select the Trusted check
box. Trusted consumers can share authorization with other trusted
consumers and do not need user approval to access data.
The server
generates a provisional consumer key.
- Click Request Access or Grant
access for the provisional key. A request for access is
sent to the Rational Asset Manager server.
After you add the Rational Asset Manager server
as an external friend server, you must approve the request in Rational Asset Manager.
- Log on to the Rational Asset Manager web
client as a repository administrator.
- Click Administration.
- In the Repository Administration sidebar, click Cross-Server
Communication. In the OAuth Consumer section,
an entry for the Jazz friend
server is displayed.
- For the entry, click Approve.
