In this tutorial, you use a sample Eclipse project and
create new assets that solve specific business problems.
With
IBM® Rational® Asset Manager,
you can increase productive, efficient reuse of assets by submitting
and finding assets that are submitted from any community in the repository.
Assets are tagged with various levels of metadata that range from
general descriptors (for example, name, version, description, or community
membership) to more advanced descriptors (for example, custom labels,
tags, and categories).
Repository administrators define the categories
that constitute the primary structure for assets in the repository.
Administrators can classify an asset with all categories that apply
to the asset or the context of the asset. Users can select categories
and apply them as search filters to narrow their searches. In this
tutorial, you download a sample Eclipse project, create and categorize
a new asset, and find the asset by using the category filters in the
Assets view.
