Viewing statistics for communities

You can view a summary of popular assets and listings of assets by type or state for a community.

Before you begin

To view community statistics, you must be a member of a community.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the IBM® Rational® Asset Manager web client.
  2. Click Communities.
  3. Click the name of the community that you want to view the statistics for.
  4. Click the Statistics tab. The Statistics tab contains the following charts:
    • Top Used Assets: This chart shows the assets that have been downloaded the most frequently. Click an asset name to view the general details of that asset.
    • Top Rated Assets: This chart shows the assets with the highest ratings. Click an asset name to view the general details of that asset.
    • Top Viewed Assets: This chart shows the assets that have been viewed the most. Click an asset name to view the general details of that asset.
    • Community Summary: This chart shows the total number of assets, subscriptions, downloads, and asset types. A usage is counted when a user downloads either the entire asset or an artifact in this asset. One download per hour, per user is counted as a usage; for example, if a user downloads 10 artifacts in one hour, those downloads count as one usage. On the chart, click any bar to see search results.
    • Assets by State: This chart shows the number of assets by state in a lifecycle (for example, Draft or Approved). On the chart, click any bar to see search results.
    • Assets by Type: This chart shows the number of assets by asset type. On the chart, click any bar to see search results.

What to do next

If you need to generate more detailed reports or you want to generate a report about a certain time period, you can generate custom reports about asset activity with the audit tools. For more information, see Creating custom reports about assets in a community.

To view detailed statistics about a single asset, see Viewing reports for assets.
