Lesson 1.4: Describe the new Audit2007 asset

Learn how to describe the Audit2007 asset by adding general asset metadata.
You must have an active connection to a Rational® Asset Manager repository. If you do not have an active connection, see the topic: Creating a connection to a Rational Asset Manager repository.

Describe the new asset by providing the required descriptors and custom descriptors (for example, tags).

Describe the new asset

  1. Right click the Audit2007 project, click New > Other. The New window opens.
  2. In the New window, expand Asset Management, select Asset and click Finish. The Asset Editor opens.
Note: The icon that looks like a small brown cube indicates that the asset is in an editable, draft state and that it has not yet been submitted into the repository.
  3. On the General Details page, describe the asset.
    1. Type a name for the asset: Sample Audit Asset.
    2. Type the version for the asset: 1.0
    3. Type this short description: This is the new Audit2007 process and tool design.
    4. From the Community list, select the Sample Application Development community.
    5. From the Type list, choose the Design asset type. Refer to the table in Lesson 1.1 to determine the correct asset type.
    6. Type this description: This was designed between 2002-2007 in the New York branch.
  4. Save the file to save your work so far. Saving the file does not submit the asset to the repository.
You will continue to define the asset in the following lessons. The next lesson will teach you how to add content to the asset.
