You must create connections to Rational® ClearQuest® through the Rational Asset
Manager web application. Connections are required for forum mappings
configurations, queries, and ClearQuest-driven review processes.
About this task
Users of the repository use these connections to map an
asset or a forum topic to ClearQuest so that it is
tracked.
A schema in IBM® Rational ClearQuest is a complete description of
the process model for one type of change request (the metadata for
that process model). It includes a description of the states and actions
of the model, the structure of the data, hook code, forms, reports,
and queries.
Rational ClearQuest also provides four types of
databases:
- The schema repository, also referred to as a master database,
can store multiple schemas, for example, one schema for defect change
requests and another schema for feature enhancement change requests.
The schema repository can also include multiple versions of the schema.
You use the Maintenance Tool to create a schema repository.
- The user database, also referred to as a production database,
stores and manages information entered into the change requests. You
use the Designer to create a user database.
- A sample database is a working user database that provides 40
sample defect records of user information, as well as sample queries
and reports. You can create a sample database when you create a schema
repository with the Maintenance Tool.
- A test database is a temporary database that you can create when
you are using the Designer to develop a new schema or create a new
version of a schema
