Lesson 1.8: Find assets by using the category filters

After submitting the asset named SampleAuditAsset [1.0] to the repository, explore how other users can use these category filters to find the asset.

Assume that you are in the Business Administration department of the London branch, looking for new audit solutions for the branch hardware and other physical assets. Use the following steps to find the asset named SampleAuditAsset:

  1. In the Asset Management perspective, open the Asset Search view, if it is not already open.
  2. In the Asset Search view, click the Filters tab, and scroll until you see the Type section.
  3. If necessary, expand Type and click Design. The Assets Search view will open and update with a list of assets that are of the Design asset type.
  4. In the filters tab, scroll to the Category section, expand Software Development > Documentation > Format and then click Textual. As you select more filters, the list of search results in the Assets view updates dynamically. You can also search with simple keywords, advanced keywords, and tags.
  5. In the Assets view, you should see the SampleAuditAsset that you submitted. If you don't see it, the search index for the repository might not have updated yet.
  6. Double click the asset name to open the asset in the Asset Editor.
