Share your Eclipse project with Rational® ClearCase® (CC) before creating a new asset
in ClearCase.
Before you begin
First you must have an Eclipse project before you can share
it with ClearCase. Use the following instructions to create a new
project in Eclipse:

Procedure
- To share a project with ClearCase, right-click the project
name and select .
- In the Share Project window, select ClearCase SCM Adapter,
and click Next.
- In the Rational ClearCase panel, browse and select a directory
within the ClearCase view to contain these new project files, then
click Next. If the VOB that you
select is not mounted, you must first mount the VOB in ClearCase,
then you can select the directory.
Note: Notice the differences between
dynamic and snapshot views.
- Dynamic view: You can view directories and files directly from
the ClearCase server. You must be connected to the ClearCase server
to use this view.
- Snapshot view: You can view directories and files from a local
copy of the ClearCase server. You can work offline or disconnected
form the ClearCase server using this view.
- Click Finish.
- In the Add Elements to Source Control dialog,
click OK to check your files into ClearCase.
Results
Remember: In the ClearCase Team Preferences window,
you can set files to be automatically checked in to ClearCase. If
this preference is enabled, the Add Elements to Source
Control window might not display.
