Lesson 1.2: Create the insurance service and submit the service asset

In Rational® Asset Manager Eclipse client, the developer finds the service asset from Lesson 1.1 and its related assets and downloads the assets into her workspace. She then develops, tests, and modifies a prototype of the solution and submits the solution as an asset in Rational Asset Manager.

After the developer submits the asset to the Rational Asset Manager repository, the asset is in the 'Review' state. In a review, a review committee for the company ensures that the solution meets all of the requirements of the department and recommends whether the solution is ready to be published in the service repository.

Some organizations create policy-driven reviews to be run before engaging development team members in a technical review. Policy-driven reviews are automated reviews that ensure that the code meets specific requirements of a particular organization or solution type.

The asset in this demonstration passes both the policy-driven and technical reviews and is ready to be managed in WebSphere® Service Registry and Repository for web service governance and deployment activities.
