IBM® Tivoli® Integration Composer (ITIC)
uses information from the Rational® Asset Manager discovery
library adapter (DLA) output file to create the operational management
product (OMP) in IBM Tivoli Change and Configuration
Management Database (CCMDB).
Procedure
- Set up the configuration item (CI) type adapter.
- Create a CI Type schema in the database.
- In the DB command window, run the appropriate createTADDM71CITypeDataSchema file
for your database (located in the <ITIC_root_dir>\data\dataschema folder).
- Create a TADDM data source.
- Start the ITIC application (for example, in the <ITIC_root_dir>\bin folder,
run startFusion.bat (for Windows)
or startFusion.sh (for UNIX-based systems).
- Click Define New Data Source.
- Select TADDM CI Type.
- For the data source name, enter TADDMCIType.
- Select Connection Method: IBM Configuration
and Tracking API
- Host name: Type the host name for the TADDM
server (not the database).
- Port: Type the RMI port for the TADDM server.
The default value is 9530. If using SSL, the default value it 9531.
- User name: Type the user name for a TADDM
account with administrator privileges.
- Password: Type the password for the TADDM
user.
- Click Test Connection.
- Click OK.
- Define a new data schema for Maximo®.
- Click Define New Data Schema.
- Type a data schema name; for example, CCMDB71Classification.
- Select the appropriate connection method for the database:
- DB2®: IBM DB2 JDBC
Driver
- Oracle: Oracle JDBC Thin Driver
- SQL Server: i-net OPTA JDBC Driver for Microsoft SQL
Server 7/2000
- Host name: Type the host name for the CCMDB
database server.
- Port: Type the port number for the server.
The default values are:
- DB2: 50005
- Oracle: 1521
- SQL Server: 1433
- Database: Type the name of the database;
for example, maxdb71.
- User name: Type the user name for the user
who created the Maximo tables in the database.
- Password: Type the user's password.
- Table owner: Type the user name for the
user who created the Maximo tables in the database.
- Click Test Connection.
- Click OK.
- Finalize the CI Type schema.
- In the database command window, run the appropriate qualifierCCMDB71Classification file
for your database (located in the <ITIC_root_dir>\data\dataschema folder).
- Create CI Type mappings.
- Select Create New Mapping.
- Source: TADDMCIType
- Target: CCMDB71Classification
- Name: taddm-2-ccmdb-citypes
- Import CI Type mapping file.
- Select action Import.
- Select the mapping file TADDM71CITypeToCCMDB71Classification.fsn
- Select action Save.
- Close and reopen the ITIC application.
- Execute CI Type mapping.
- In the ITIC application, click Execute Mapping.
- Select the mapping taddm-2-ccmdb-citypes.
- Click OK.
- Activate CI Types.
- Log in to the Base Services/CCMDB application (http://host_name/maximo).
- Click .
- Search for APP.SOFTWAREIMAGE, SYS.COMPUTERSYSTEM, SYS.OPERATINGSYSTEM,
and APP.DEFINITIVESOFTWARELIBRARY.
- Using the Change Status icon,
change its status to active.
- Click Save.
- Set up Actual CI adapter.
- Create Actual CI schema in the database.
- In the database command window, run the appropriate createTADDM71ActualCIDataSchema for
your database (located in <ITIC_root_dir>\data\dataschema folder).
- Create TADDM data source.
- Start the ITIC application (for example, in the <ITIC_root_dir>\bin folder,
run startFusion.bat (for Windows)
or startFusion.sh for UNIX-based systems).
- Click Define New Data Source.
- Select TADDM CI Type.
- For the data source name, enter TADDMActualCI.
- Select Connection Method: IBM Configuration
and Tracking API
- Host name: Type the host name for the TADDM
server (not the database).
- Port: Type the RMI port for the TADDM server.
The default value is 9530. If using SSL, the default value it 9531.
- User name: Type the user name for a TADDM
account with administrator privileges.
- Password: Type the password for the TADDM
user.
- Click Test Connection.
- Click OK.
- Define new data schema for Maximo (target).
- Click Define New Data Schema.
- Type a data schema name; for example, CCMDB71ActualCI.
- Select the appropriate connection method for the database:
- DB2: IBM DB2 JDBC
Driver
- Oracle: Oracle JDBC Thin Driver
- SQL Server: i-net OPTA JDBC Driver for Microsoft SQL
Server 7/2000
- Host name: Type the host name for the CCMDB
database server.
- Port: Type the port number for the server.
The default values are:
- DB2: 50005

- Select action Import Data Schema: CCMDB71ActualCI.schm
- Fix any errors, and then click OK.
- Select action Save.
- Finalize Actual CI schema.
- In the database command window, run the appropriate qualifierCCMDB71ActualCI file
for your database (located in <ITIC_root_dir>\data\dataschema folder).
- Create Actual CI mappings.
- Select Create New Mapping.
- Source: TADDMActualCI
- Target: CCMDB71ActualCI
- Name: taddm-2-ccmdb-actualci
- Import Actual CI mappings file.
- Select action Import.
- Select the mapping file TADDM71CITypeToCCMDB71ActualCI.fsn
- Select action Save.
- Close and reopen the ITIC application.
- Execute Actual CI mapping. This step might
take some time, depending on the amount of data in TADDM.
- In the ITIC application, click Execute Mapping.
- Select the mapping taddm-2-ccmdb-actualci.
- Click OK.
- Verify that the data was imported into CCMDB.
- In CCMDB, click .
- Search for items that should have been imported and
confirm that they are present.
