Setting up Rational Asset Manager on the cloud

You can use an instance of IBM® Rational® Asset Manager on the cloud to do the same tasks as you can with a regular installation of the product.

About this task

When you use Rational Asset Manager on the cloud, you can set up an instance so that users in communities can work on assets. Using an instance of Rational Asset Manager on the cloud is like using the web client.

Procedure

  1. On the IBM Smart Business Development and Test on the IBM Cloud website, register and sign in to your account.
  2. Click Cloud portal login and - sign in to your account.
  3. Click the Control Panel tab and then click Add Instance.
  4. From the "Add instance" window, select a version of Rational Asset Manager. Click Next and enter the requested information. Instance provisioning can take up to one hour. After the instance is provisioned, it is displayed on the Instances tab of the Control Panel. When you select the instance, the Getting Started section that contains a link to the Rational Asset Manager home page is displayed.
Requirement: For integrations with Jazz servers, the date and time settings for each server must be synchronized with the settings on the cloud instance. You can manually synchronize them or set them to GMT.

What to do next

After you create an instance, you can configure it by using the web client. For information, see Administering Rational Asset Manager.
