When you generate a COBOL program, the debugTrace build
descriptor option indicates whether or not to enable tracing of the
generation process.
Please do not set the option value to YES unless you are working
with IBM® service personnel,
who will also request that the symbolic parameter DEBUGTRACE be set
to IBM. The trace information
that results from the special generation is quite extensive and is
embedded in the output COBOL program.
You can get partial tracing details without setting the
debugTrace option
to YES:
- Find the EGL code section that you want to debug.
- Place this line of code before that section: EZE("debugstart").
- Place this line of code after that section: EZE("debugstop").
- Accept the default value for the debugTrace option
and generate the code.
Values
- NO (the default value)
- Trace information is not added to the COBOL source file.
- YES
- Trace information is added to the COBOL source file.
