When you generate a COBOL program for z/OS®, the sqlErrorTrace build descriptor option specifies whether the generated COBOL program includes the code necessary to trace the SQL error codes from the SQL communications area (SQLCA) that occur during I/O operations that involve a relational database. If you set sqlErrorTrace to YES, the trace output is only produced if you also activate the runtime tracing. To stop the tracing, you can either deactivate the runtime tracing or set sqlErrorTrace to NO and generate the program again.
To trace the actual SQL I/O statements, including the SQL error codes, use the sqlIOTrace build descriptor option. To trace non-I/O statements, use the statementTrace build descriptor option.
For more information about activating the trace and for information about obtaining the trace output, refer to the IBM® Rational® Business Developer EGL Server Guide for IBM i or IBM Rational COBOL Runtime Guide for zSeries, as appropriate for your target runtime environment.
