Setting file type associations

The Content Types preference page enables you to associate file extensions to be used with the COBOL editor. You can add and remove associated file extensions.

About this task

The default extensions for the COBOL source file are:
  • .cob
  • .cbl
  • .ccp
  • .cb2
The default extensions for a COBOL copybook file content type are:
  • .cpy
  • .sqb

Procedure

  1. Click Window > Preferences > General.
  2. In the Content types list expand Text and click COBOL Source File. In the File associations box the list of file types associated with COBOL are displayed. Other COBOL content types are listed under COBOL. To see the file type associations, click the content type.
  3. To add a file association, click Add.
    1. In the Add Content Type Association window, type the file type in the Content type field.
    2. Click OK
  4. Click OK to save your changes.
