About this task

When service entry points are set via the Remote System Explorer, a process for tracking these is kept on the host. The first time you set a service entry point in the workbench, this process is created (one per host/user ID combination). Subsequent service entry point settings (for the same host and user ID) will use this process and take less time to set. This process will remain on the host until one of the following occurs:

  • The workbench in which the service entry point was created is closed.
  • You clear the service entry points via the IBM i Service Entry Points view.
