Content assistance for line commands

The System z® LPEX Editor provides content assistance commands you enter on the command line. Content assistance is available for base LPEX commands, System z LPEX commands, and ISPF primary commands when you are using the editor in ISPF mode.

About this task

For help with System z LPEX Editor line commands:

Procedure

  1. Place the cursor in the System z LPEX Editor command line and press Ctrl+Spacebar. If you know part of the command name, you can type a partial command and then press Ctrl+Spacebar. For example, type c and then press Ctrl+Spacebar to display all commands that begin with the letter c. The editor displays a list of line commands to choose from.
  2. Press the Up and Down arrow keys to highlight a command and then double-click the command to select it. The command is added to the command line.
  3. Optional: If the command has parameters, add the parameters to the command line. See the related topics for more information about line commands.
  4. Press Enter to run the command. The command output displays.
