Select this option to use a local copy of information required from the
AS/400 host. This information might include copy members, database
field information and NLSS sort sequence tables.
If you select this item, the program verifier will first look on your
workstation for any AS/400 host information it requires. If it is not
found locally, then CODE will try to get it from the AS/400 host. If
successful CODE will then cache, or copy, the information to a local
workstation file so it will be found on subsequent verifier actions.
The files are stored in a workstation directory determined by the CODECACHEDIR
registry entry set in your Windows registry. You can find this entry
under the following registry path:
IBM\ADTS...\Environment\CODECACHEDIR
Select this option when you wish to:
- Use verify without an AS/400 host connection:
- Download the source member you wish to work on to a local workstation
file, using Save as under File.
- While you still have an AS/400 host connection, perform a verifier action
with this option selected. This will copy all host information required
for the verify to the local CODECACHEDIR directory.
- Without an AS/400 connection, select this option to use the local
workstation copy of the host information when verifying.
- If you plan to work on another workstation, copy the root source member
from step 1, and all the files in the CODECACHEDIR subdirectory, to the other
workstation.
- Reduce AS/400 host CPU cycles used by Program Verifier.
When all the information required to perform the verifier action is found
locally, little or no AS/400 host CPU cycles are used by the verifier.
- Note:
- The default CODECACHEDIR registry entry is x:\...\WDT400\CACHE,
where x:\...\WDT400 is the path where CODE is installed.
