Select an item from the File pull-down menu to perform the
following tasks:
- New
- Creates a new untitled display (DSPF), printer (PRTF), or physical (PF)
file.
- Tip:
- If you type CODEDSU /T DSPF on the command line of an MS-DOS
window, the CODE Designer will automaticaly create a new untitled source file
of the specified type.
- Open
- Opens a DDS source file. The file can be from your workstation or
from an iSeries.
- Tip:
- If you type CODEDSU myscreen.dspf on the command line of an
MS-DOS window, the CODE Designer immediately loads the source file.
- Save
- Saves the current file, including any changes you have made to it.
If you are trying to save an untitled file, the Save as dialog
appears. This dialog prompts you for a name and location of the
file.
- Save as
- Saves the current file under a new name.
- Edit DDS source/Design DDS source
- Switches to the Source page in the Workbook where you can directly edit
the DDS source. If the CODE Designer is in edit mode, selecting this
menu choice will reload the source in the Design page.
- Note:
- A checkpoint will automatically be created.
- Close
- Closes the current file in the CODE Designer window.
- Make checkpoint
- Creates a snapshot of the DDS source at a particular point in time.
Checkpoints are backups of the DDS source.
- Revert to checkpoint
- Allows you to return to a previously saved version (checkpoint) of the DDS source.
- Note:
- If you revert to a checkpoint and the file has changes pending, it is
advisable to save the changes or create a checkpoint.
- Exit
- Quits the CODE Designer session.
- Most recently used files
- Opens the files that were recently opened in the CODE Designer
session.
