Field-level descriptions

A field-level description contains keywords which apply only to the specific field with which it is associated. This type of file description can define the length of each field, and the type of data (character, numeric, or binary). A field can contain several keywords. All keywords for a field must be coded before the next field definition.

DDS allows the following types of field-level descriptions:

Specification Type

Keyword
Applies to all fields within a field.
