Using a local project will allow you to work disconnected,
and push your changes once you connect again. There are some settings
you will want to set up to work this way.

To work disconnected, you will want to use these settings:
Procedure
- When creating a project, ensure Push on save, and Push
on build (if available) are turned off.
To change
these settings for projects already created:
- Right-click the project in the Project Explorer view,
select Properties. Select Remote Contexts.
- Right-click the project in the Project Explorer view
or Remote Reconciler view, select . For more information on Push/Pull Settings,
see Project Explorer view and Remote Reconciler view.
Note: In addition to ensuring
Push on Save, and
Push on build (if available)
are turned off, you must also ensure that
Pull on Remote Update is
also turned off. When these options are off, the icons on the menu
are not highlighted. You should also ensure that
Configure Automatic Synchronization... is
set to the default value of 0 to indicate that no automatic synchronization
is done.
You can change the defaults for these options when creating
new projects in , then selecting and then selecting
the project type.
Note: This setting is only available as a preference
for some project types.
