Rational Developer for System z

JCL Parser

Use this page of the System z® LPEX Editor preferences to enable the System z LPEX Editor to display margin lines for quickly and easily checking column alignments in a JCL file.

To enable margin lines, click one of the following check boxes. To disable margin lines, clear the check box. By default, these margin lines are disabled.
Enable operation alignment line
Enables a vertical margin line at the column number indicated. Use this setting to set the start column for the operation field (that is, the column where JOB, PROC, EXEC, and DD statements start). By default, this margin line is disabled.
Enable continuation margin line at column 16
Enables a vertical margin line at column 16. For JCL, continued lines must start between columns 4 and 16 (inclusive). If the continuation occurs within an apostrophe-delimited parameter, the continued line must begin at exactly column 16. By default, this margin line is disabled.
Enable right margin line at column 72
Enables a vertical margin line at column 72. By default, this margin line is enabled.
