This topic describes how to download a software analysis
configuration from a push-to-client server to a client workstation.
For additional information see Updating workspace configurations and preferences.
The instructions in this topic assume that the following steps
have already been performed:
- A z/OS® system is configured
as the push-to-client primary system (see Distributing updates by using push-to-client).
There can also be nonprimary push-to-client systems that shadow the
primary system.
- The primary system is configured to recognize the client workstation
as a valid push-to-client client.
To download a software analysis configuration:
- When the client workstation makes a connection to a push-to-client
server, the push-to-client components determine whether the client
workstation has downloaded the latest versions of the available software
analysis configurations. If not, then the Updates Available window
opens on the client.
- The Updates Available window displays a message notifying the
client user that new or updated configurations are available. For
additional information see Updating workspace configurations and preferences.
- Depending on the push-to-client server configuration, the updates
can be either required or optional:
- If updates are required then the client user clicks OK.
- If updates are optional then the client user selects from among
the available updates and then clicks OK.
The selected updates are downloaded to the client workstation:
- If the operation is successful then a confirmation message is
displayed.
- If the operation fails then an error message is displayed.
