If the cursor is already at home position when the user presses Home, the OS/400 program returns control to your program. If you have not specified HOME in this situation, the OS/400 program sends a message that indicates that the key is not valid.

Parameters
Sets on the specified response indicator.

If you selected the Parameters check box, then specify the following information:

Indicator
Specifies which response indicator you want to turn on for this keyword.

Text
Provides a description for this keyword and the intended use for the indicator.

INDTXT page

The INDTXT page allows you to associate a text description with a response indicator or with an option indicator. INDTXT does not cause the specified indicator to appear in the output record area for printer files, or in either the input or the output record area for display files. It merely provides an explanation for the indicator. You can specify it once for each indicator within the same record. You can specify the same indicator in different records, as long as you do not specify it at both the file level and the field level.

The MDTOFF page allows you to set the changed data tags (MDTs) off for input fields in records that are already on the display. The program sets MDTs off when your program sends an output operation to this record. The program displays MDTs for fields with DSPATR(MDT).

Select from one of the following for setting MDTs off:

Set off modified data tags for input-capable fields
Sets off MDTs when your program sends an ouput operation to the record format you are defining.

Only for unprotected input-capable fields

The MSGLOC page allows you to specify the line on which messages are displayed. If you do not specify MSGLOC, the message line will be the last line of the display.

The message line displays the following:

MSGLOC is in effect between the time when this file is opened and the time when this file is closed. You can temporarily override it if you suspend this file while you open another one to the same device. The program uses the message location for the other file until you restore this file. The program saves any data on the message line before the message appears, and restores it when the user presses Reset.

Line number
Specifies the line number for the message line. A valid line number is between 1 and 28. If you do not specify MSGLOC, the message line will be the last line of the display.

When you specify SLNO, the program adjusts the actual line numbers for each field and help specification in the record format. If you use SLNO with ERRMSG, ERRMSGID, PUTOVR, or PUTRETAIN, the OS/400 program checks the starting line number whether it is the same as the previous output operation. If it is not, the program displays the record with the lines that are adjusted to the value that is specified for SLNO. If it is, the program performs the action that is specified by the other keywords.

Select from one of the following to specify a starting line number for this record:

Run time variable (*VAR)
