Limitations

Design area context menu limitation

While designing display files or reports, you can right click entries in the design area to display a context menu. The context menu actions are only supported for a single selection. If you select, for example, multiple fields and then select Copy and Paste from the context menu, only the first field will be copied.

Design area DBCS limitations

When selecting a DBCS constant or field which contains shift characters, the grey background of the field in the design area will be shorter than the text in the field. If you, for example, want to move such a field, click the grey background to drag it. This behavior is caused by a limitation in the current technology.

Use of DBCS fields on files with no DBCS CCSID

The size of a DBCS field in a non-DBCS file could appear in the design area shorter than its content. If you create, for example, a field in a display file which does not have a DBCS CCSID, and you assign type Double-byte and shift Graphic to the field, the size of the field in the design area will be shown shorter than the size which the sample data occupies.
