Setting preferences for editor save actions

You can use the Save Action preference page to configure actions performed by the COBOL Editor when saving a file.

Procedure

  1. Click Windows > Preferences > COBOL > Editor > Save Actions.
  2. Click Perform the selected actions on save to perform the specified save options for source and copybook files.
  3. Click Remove trailing whitespace to remove whitespace characters from the end of the text line during a save.
  4. Click Format source code to enable one or more options for just source files.
    1. Click Apply all formatting options for all Formatter preferences to be performed during a save.
    2. Click Apply only capitalization options for options related to capitalization to be performed during a save.
  5. Click Identify unreachable code to identify unreachable code within the file.
  6. In the Copybook Files section, click Remove trailing whitespace to remove whitespace characters from the end of the text line when saving copybook files.
  7. Click Format copybook code to apply format options when saving copybook files.
