Maximum record length (MAXRCDLEN)

Specifies the maximum number of bytes in the record length used when the file is opened.

The possible values are:

*CALC
The length calculated for the largest record in the file is used when the file is opened.

*CMDDFT
The system default is used.

user defined
Specify the maximum record length used when the file is opened. If the record length is less than the length calculated for the largest record in the file, then the calculated value is used. Valid values range from 1 through 32767 bytes.
