The submit command can be used to submit a JCL job to
a z/OS® system.
Syntax
submit [ save ] [ "systemName" ]
sub [ save ] [ "systemName" ]
Parameters
- save
- Use the parameter save to indicate that the file should
be saved, if necessary, before it is submitted. If the file has changed
but save is not used, the current contents of the editor buffer will
be submitted.
- "systemName"
- Use the parameter systemName to indicate the z/OS system on which the job should be submitted.
It must be the name of a currently-connected z/OS system, as defined in the Remote Systems
view.
If the file resides on a z/OS system,
systemName may be omitted. If omitted, systemName will default to
the system on which the file resides.
If the file resides locally,
systemName may be omitted if a single z/OS system
is connected.
The enclosing quotes may be omitted, unless systemName
is "save".
Status
The
status parameter
will be set to one of the following values to indicate completion
information:
- null

the job.
- save failed
- Indicates that the submit command attempted to save the
file, but the save failed. The file was not submitted.
- submit.notConnected
- Indicates that systemName specifies a system which is not
currently connected. The file was not submitted.
- submit.failed
- Indicates that the submit command was not able to submit
the job.
