The Details page provides a detailed view of the DDS objects selected by the
DDS Tree. You can view this page in either
details mode or list mode.
In details mode, columns display information about each DDS
object. You can use this mode if you want to know more about each DDS
object (record, help specification, field, keyword, or keys).
In list mode, the DDS objects appear as columns of named
icons. You can use this mode if you want to see more DDS objects within
the page.

This view displays all the records that are contained in the file or
group. You can resize the width of columns by moving the mouse between
two column headings.
The CODE Designer provides the following detailed information for the
record in this view.
- Record
- Lists the names of the records in the current file or group.
- Type
- Identifies the type of record.
- Window
- Indicates that the record is a window record.
- Date
- Shows when the CODE Designer last changed the record date.
- Description
- Displays information about the record.
This view displays all the records that are contained in the file or
group. You can resize the width of columns by moving the mouse between

specification in this view.
- Text
- Lists the location of the help text when the help key is pressed in the
help area.
- Area
- Lists the selected area where the help specification appears.
- Format
- Lists the format of the help specification.

- Shows the name of the field in the current record.
- Position

column displays the database file, library, record, and field names.
- Alias
- Specifies the alternative name for the field. When you compile the
program, the program uses the alternative name instead of the DDS field

- Shows the conditioning indicators for the field.
- Sample
- Shows an example of what the field looks like on the display.
This view displays all the fields that are contained in the record.

The CODE Designer provides the following detailed information for each
field in this view.
- Field
- Shows the name of the field in the current record.
- Position
- Indicates the location of the field on the report.
- For relative line positioning, the line is blank.
- The program represents SKIP and SPACE values as B(SKIPB + SPACEB) ,
column value A(+SPACEA SKIPA).

B(3), 32 A(+2),
- A field has a relative column of 43, a SKIPB of 1, and a SPACEB of 2

- Length
- Specifies the length for each named field.

keyword in this view.
- Keyword
- Lists the names of the keywords in the current file, record, or
field.
- Parameter
- Lists any parameters for this keyword.
- Conditioning
- Shows the conditioning indicators for the keyword.
This view displays all the keys that are contained in this record.
You can resize the width of columns by moving the mouse between two column
headings.
The CODE Designer provides the following detailed information for each key
in this view.
- Keyword
- Lists the names of the keywords in the current file, record, or
field.
- Sort order
- Lists the type of sort order the fields are in.
- Ascending
- Retrieves data records with the smallest key values first.
- Descending
- Retrieves data records with the largest key values first.
Retrieves data records with the smallest key values first.
- Numeric sorting
- Specifies the criteria that affect the order in which to sequence data
records in a database file member. You can only specify the criteria
that are applicable to the datatype of the key field. Select one of the
following keywords:
- Digit
- Valid only for character, hexadecimal, or zoned-decimal fields. The
program only uses each byte's digit portion to sequence the data
records.
- Signed
- Valid only for zoned-decimal, packed-decimal, floating-point, or binary
fields.
The OS/400 program will consider the signs of the key values (negative
versus positive) when sequencing the data records.
- Zone
- Valid only for character, hexadecimal, or zoned-decimal fields. The
program only uses each byte's zone portion to sequence the data
records.
- Unsigned
- Valid for all data types.
The OS/400 program will consider the key values as a string of unsigned
binary data when sequencing the data records. Character and hexadecimal
fields default to unsigned values.
- Absolute Value
- Valid only for zoned-decimal, packed-decimal, floating-point, or binary
fields.
The OS/400 program will ignore the signs of the key values when sequencing
the data records.
- Alternative sequence
- Specifies the alternative collating sequence if you specified one in the
file attributes that are specified by the ALTSEQ keyword.
- Note:
- This will not apply if No alternative sequence is specified for
this particular key.
