Planning what features to install

You can customize your software product by selecting which features of IBM® Rational® Developer for AIX® and Linux V9.1 to install.

When you install the product package by using IBM Installation Manager, the installation wizard displays the features in the available product package. From the features list, you can select which to install. A default set of features is selected for you (including any required features). IBM Installation Manager automatically enforces any dependencies between features and prevents you from clearing any required features.

If you select any non-English language during the installation, all languages are installed. For components from other groups that do not translate into the same set, a mix of English and translated content may appear.

Note: After you finish installing the package, you can still add or remove features from your software product by running the Modify wizard in IBM Installation Manager. See Modifying installed product packages for more information.
