Select an item from the Tools pull-down menu to launch CODE
specific actions. The following list contains information for each of
the specific menu selections on the Tools menu.
- Verify file
- Checks the entire file for syntax errors and semantic errors.
- Compile
- Creates the DDS file on your iSeries host.
- Note:
- This is only valid when editing an iSeries file.
To change the options prior to calling the Program Generator, select
Prompt. Select No prompt to use the options you
last used when you started the Program Generator.
- Select database fields
- Brings up a dialog so you can find database files and select fields to
reference.
- Command Shell
- Starts the Command Shell within the CODE Editor window.
- Servers
- Select from the following menu choices to work with and define the iSeries
servers:
- Define library list
- Manages the list of user libraries you would like to use when signed on to
the iSeries.
- Note:
- This function is not available for STRCODE servers.
- Define TCP/IP servers
- Defines TCPIP server names to eliminate using an emulator session or the
STRCODE command.
- Define server logon
- Saves your user ID and password to sign on.
- Note:
- This function is not available for STRCODE servers.
- Shutdown all STRCODE servers
- Shutdowns all servers that were started using the STRCODE command on the
iSeries.
- Work with STRCODE servers
- Allows you to delete or terminate STRCODE servers.
- Multi-file search
- Brings up the Multi-file search window. This window allows you to
search for a particular string or text in many members on the host or in local
files.
- Settings
- Brings up the application settings notebook where you can change your
settings for the CODE Designer.
