The COBOL Editor supports the use of code templates to
promote efficiency and consistency in creating commonly and frequently
used blocks of code.
The
Templates preference page allows you to
create, edit, remove, import, and export code templates. Rational® Developer for System z® ships with a set of default templates
that you can use as-is or edit to suit your needs. The
Templates preference
page is located under the
COBOL preference.
To open the
Templates preference page complete
the following steps:
- Click .
- Click + to expand the COBOL
> Templates entry in the preferences list.
- Click Templates.
The
Templates window contains the following
fields:
- Template table
- Lists defined templates by Name, Context, Description,
and Auto Insert option. The Context indicates
the section of a source file in which the template is valid. The Auto
Insert option indicates if the template is automatically
inserted into a new source file. The check box beside the template
name indicates if the template is enabled.
- Preview
- Shows the content of the template.
