Steps involved in converting a project to a Local/Remote
C/C++ Project
Procedure
- After invoking the Convert To Local/Remote C/C++ Project wizard,
or selecting "Yes" from the project conversion dialog, the wizard
will open: Select
one or more projects to be converted. The recently loaded project
(or the one chosen at the time the wizard was launched) may already
be selected, however this area allows for bulk project conversion
should there be several projects that need converting.
- Select the project type for the conversion.
- For Local projects, select Local and
then click Next.
- For Synchronized projects, select Synchronized and
then click Next.
- Specify a Common remote root location.
Click Browse and select a common remote root
location for the projects that you are converting.
- Optionally, disable automatically pushing file changes to the
remote location when ever a file is saved by deselecting Push
on save.
- Click Next.
- For Network File System projects,
select Network File System and then click Next.
- Specify a Common remote root location.
Click Browse and select a common remote root
location for the projects that you are converting.
- Optionally, disable having the wizard automatically verify that
the mount location is valid by deselecting Validate mount
location.
- Click Next.
- Select the Language options, and Toolchain options that
best suite your project and then click Next
Note: The
tool chains available at this step will depend on the type of project,
as well as the operating system of the remote system. The XL C/C++
Tool Chain is only available when the remote system is an AIX or Linux
on Power system.
- Specify additional Project Options, or optionally click Finish to
convert the project(s) immediately.
- Build Command: the command to be used to build your project
- Build Directory: the location where the build command is
to be issued
- Compiler Executable Directory: the location where the XL
compiler executable can be found. The default install location is
chosen by default.
- Do not index project until project has been built: prevent
the indexer from launching until the project has been built.
Note: The Compiler Executable Directory field
will not be visible when the selected project type is Local or when
Remote Linux GCC Tool Chain is specified.
- Click Next, or optionally click Finish to
convert the project(s) immediately. If you click Next,
you will be presented with a listing of the projects to be converted.
The listing includes the Project Name, Project Type, if applicable
the Remote Location, and the Build Directory. Click Finish to
convert the selected projects.
