Using predefined commands

About this task

For some of the frequently used commands, the Commands subsystem provides you with a number of predefined command sets. You can use these command sets or create new ones of your own. For example, to run the ADDLIBLE command set:

Procedure

  1. In the Remote Systems view, expand the Commands subsystem to see the list of all the predefined commands available.
  2. Expand Add library to library list to run this command.
  3. Specify the name of the library to add to the user portion of the library list and click OK.

What to do next

You can also define your own commands to run from the Commands subsystem.
  1. Beneath the Commands subsystem, expand Your command(s).
  2. Enter your command in the Command field. You can also browse to an appropriate command in the QSYS library by clicking Browse.
  3. Select whether you want the command to be run in the Remote System Explorer communication server job (Normal), as a Batch application, or as an Interactive application.
You can also use launch configurations to save and customize your environment for running programs. See the related concept for more information.
