Content assistance for line commands

The System z® LPEX Editor provides content assistance for commands that you enter on the command line. Content assistance is available for base LPEX commands, System z LPEX commands, and ISPF primary commands when you are using the editor in ISPF mode.

Procedure

To open content assistance for System z LPEX Editor line commands:

  1. Place the cursor in the System z LPEX Editor command line and press Ctrl+Spacebar. If you know part of the command name, you can type a partial command and then press Ctrl+Spacebar. For example, type c and then press Ctrl+Spacebar to display all commands that begin with the letter c. The editor displays a list of line commands to choose from.
  2. To select a suggested command, press the Up and Down arrow keys to highlight it and then double-click the command. The command is added to the command line.
  3. Optional: If the command has parameters, add the parameters to the command line. For more information about line commands, see the related topics.
  4. To run the command, press Enter. The command output displays.
