When you are entering a value in an entry field in one of the monitors, such as the contents of a variable or storage contents, the debugger checks that the value you enter is valid for the current representation of that entry field.
A value is valid for the current representation if it contains only the characters used for that representation, and does not exceed the length of the variable involved. For example, if you want to change the contents of a character string and the current representation is as a text string, you must enter a new string in double quotes, and the length of the string must not exceed the declared string size.
If you are monitoring the storage of a variable in a *TERASPACE storage model program and you attempt to scroll the range in a storage monitor beyond the viewing storage space of the variable, the contents of address fields outside of the scope of storage will appear as question marks. These address fields cannot be edited. In this case, you should scroll the valid storage content only.
