About this task
Rational Developer for z Systems uses
the Data Studio pureQuery® technology
to add support to COBOL and PL/I programs for running, editing, and
tuning
EXEC SQL statements. After you add data access
development support to a local or remote z/OS project, you can run and tune
EXEC
SQL statements in COBOL and PL/I programs that are open in
the System z LPEX Editor,
COBOL Editor, and PL/I Editor. You can also populate the
SQL
Outline view with
EXEC SQL statements
from these editors and run the SQL tuning commands from the
SQL
Outline view.
