Code Review can be used to analyze a remote source code
file, but only if the file is open in the System z® LPEX, COBOL, or PL/I editor.
Note: Do not run code review on
internal projects such as SCLMConfigProject, RemoteSystemsTempFiles,
and wdz_proj_xxx (where xxx is the z/OS® subproject
name). Running code review on these projects produces unexpected results.
To analyze a remote source code file:
- Open the remote file in one of the System
z LPEX, COBOL, or PL/I editor.
- From the pop-up menu of the editor, select Software Analyzer and
then select the appropriate software analysis configuration or baseline analysis configuration.
- In the software analysis configuration window:
- On the Scope tab, select a local project.
- Click Analyze to run the code review.
Another method is to copy the remote source file to a local project
and then analyze it:
- Create a local project.
- Drag or copy the remote PDS or member from
the Remote Systems view to the local project.
- Run the code review on the local project or member.
