Setting content type associations

Use the Content Types preference page to associate file extensions with language content types. You can add and remove associated file extensions.

Procedure

  1. Click Window > Preferences > General > Content Types.
  2. In the Content types list, expand Text. The following content types support the editing of Assembly, COBOL, JCL, and PL/I source files:
    • Assembly Source File
    • COBOL Source File; contains the COBOL Copybook File subcategory
    • JCL
    • PL/I Source File; contains the PL/I Include File subcategory
  3. To see the file extensions that are associated with a content type, click the content type.
  4. To add a file association, click Add.
    1. In the Add Content Type Association window, type the file extension in the Content type field.
    2. Click OK.
  5. To save your changes, click OK.
