A number of tasks are very similar in Screen Designer and
Report Designer. These include opening the DDS Design perspective,
opening files that you worked with in CODE Designer, and setting preferences.
Opening an existing DDS display or printer file
Screen Designer is the default editor for display files
and Report Designer is
the default editor for printer files. You can choose an alternative
editor, such as the Remote Systems LPEX Editor, by using the Open
with menu item. You can also change the default editor
associated with any particular file extension.
Setting the default editor for DDS members
You can change the default editor associated with any particular
file extension. If you are working with your DDS display and printer
files in the Remote Systems view or i Project Navigator view, you
can change the default editor from Screen Designer and Report Designer,
to the Remote Systems LPEX Editor. For the i Project Navigator view,
you can also associate .dspf and .prtf file
types with External programs.
