Fast folder transfer:

You can alter your preferences to enable fast folder transfer for files on remote Linux and Windows servers. Large files or folders can be compressed into an archive, such as a Zip or a Jar file, which is sent across the network and extracted at the target location. To enable fast folder transfer:
  1. In the preferences window, expand Remote Systems and click Files.
  2. Select the check box for Enable fast folder transfer using data compression.
  3. Click Apply.
Tip: Help is available for all parts of the product. While your cursor is inside a view, dialog box, field, and so on, press F1 for context-sensitive help.
