Identifying rules that belong to a rule set

Use the built-in rule sets to identify or enable rules that belong to special categories.

About this task

The following built-in COBOL rules sets are available:

Procedure

To identify the rules that belong to a rule set:

  1. On the Rules tab of the software analysis configuration editor, expand the Rule Sets list.
  2. Select a rule set, such as COBOL Best Practices Code Review. In the Analysis Domains and Rules tree, the rules that belong to the selected rule set are displayed in bold. For example, if you select the COBOL Best Practices Code Review rule set then the rules in that set are displayed in bold under the COBOL Code Review node of the tree.
  3. Select Set. The check box for each rule in the set is selected, enabling the rule.
  4. To disable any rules in the set, clear the check boxes beside any rules that you do not want to include in the code review.
  5. To save the settings, click Apply.
