Export a configuration to your local file system

You can export configuration files locally to your file system. You can then send the configuration to a user so that they can then manually import it. You can also export a configuration locally as a way of backing up your database connections, preferences, remote systems artifacts, software analyzer configurations, snippets, and software analyzer custom rules and categories.

Procedure

  1. Open the export configuration dialog. Click File > Export > Rational Developer for AIX and Linux > Configuration Files. The dialog opens.
    Export dialog
  2. Select the configuration items that you want to export. For example, you can select Remote Systems Artifacts, Database Connections, Eclipse Preferences. If you expand Eclipse Preferences, you will see a list of the preference files that will be exported. If a description is available, it will be displayed in the Description column. Click Next.
  3. In Location, choose a folder to export the configuration to.
    Choose directory
  4. Click Finish to export the configuration.
