IBM i Log and Trace Analyzer

The Log and Trace Analyzer for IBM® i converts messages from IBM i job logs and message queues to Common Base Event format.

The Common Base Event format uses XML and is the new standard for log data among the different types of enterprise applications. If you convert your IBM i messages to Common Base Events, you give the log data a consistent format, so that you can analyze it and correlate it with log data from other components. While running a job, you can use the Log and Trace Analyzer to import a log file from an IBM i job log or message queue into the Log view of the Profiling and Logging perspective.

There are two ways to start this, from the Remote System Explorer and from the Profiling and Logging perspective. If you start it from the Profiling and Logging perspective, you need Agent Controller to be installed and configured on the IBM i.

The Log and Trace Analyzer is supported only on V5R4 and later releases of IBM i.
