An IBM i connection that is configured to use secure communications
establishes several different communication channels to servers on
the host system. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) communications is used
for communicating to the TCP servers that the IBM® i connection
uses for command and file operations. Secure Shell (SSH) support is
used for debugging. Both of these must be enabled on your host system
to use secure communications.
About this task
The host
IBM i system
must be configured for SSL, and the certificate for the Certificate
Authority in use on the host system must also be registered on the
client system. In addition you must configure your connections to
use secure communication methods.
