Program Verifiers - ILE COBOL - Other

Option Description Default
Target for CALL Specifies the linkage type for external CALL/CANCEL literal target and the SET ENTRY target:
  • *PGM: Target for CALL/CANCEL or SET ENTRY is a program object where the file is located.
  • *PRC: Target for CALL/CANCEL or SET ENTRY is an ILE procedure.
Off
Arithmetic mode Specifies the arithmetic mode for numeric data. Click the down arrow to select one of the following choices:
  • *NOEXTEND: Specifies the default arithmetic mode for numeric data. The intermediate result of a fixed-point arithmetic expression can be up to 30 digits and numeric literals can only have a maximum length of 18 digits.
  • *EXTEND31: Increases the precision of intermediate results for fixed-point arithmetic. The intermediate result can be up to 31 digits and numeric literals can have a maximum length of 31 digits.
  • *EXTEND63: Increase the precision of intermediate results for fixed-point arithmetic. The intermediate result of a fixed-point arithmetic expression can be up to 63 digits and numeric literals might have a maximum length of 63 digits.
Off
NLSS Options Sort Sequence: Specify the sort sequence used when NLSSORT is associated with an alphabet-name in the ALPHABET clause. The values in the Sort sequence list are used with the Language identifier value to determine the system-defined or user-defined sort sequence table. Sort sequence list values are equivalent to the SRTSEQ parameter values of the CRTCBLPGM, CRTCBLMOD, and CRTBNDCBL commands. Required if the library field is not blank:
  • *HEX: No sort sequence table is used and the hexadecimal values of the characters are used to determine the sort sequence. This is the default value.
  • *JOB: The sort sequence of the program will be resolved and associated with the program at compile time. The sort sequence table must exist in the system at compile time.
  • *JOBRUN: At compile time, the compiler associates the sort sequence of the compile job with the program. At run time, this sort sequence will be replaced by the sort sequence associated with the job at run time. Allows a program to be compiled once and used with different sort sequences at run time.
  • *LANGIDUNQ: Specifies that the sort sequence table being used must contain a unique weight for each character in the code page. Uses the unique weighted table identified by the Language identifier value.
  • *LANGIDSHR: Specifies that the sort sequence table being used can contain the same weight for multiple characters in the code page. Uses the shared weighted table identified by the Language identifier value.
Off
Library: The library name where the Print file is located. To indicate a library, type a name (up to 10 characters), or click the down arrow to select:
  • *LIBL: Searches the library list to find the library where the file is located.
  • *CURLIB: Uses the current library. If you have not assigned a library as the current library, QGPL is used.
*LIBL
Language ID: Specify the language identifier which is used with the Sort Sequence value. The Language identifier value is used only when the Sort sequence value in effect is *LANGIDUNQ or *LANGIDSHR. The values in this list are equivalent to the LANGID parameter values of the CRTCBLPGM, CRTCBLMOD, and CRTBNDCBL commands. Select one of the following choices:
  • *JOBRUN: The language identifier of the program will be resolved at run time. When the compiled program is run, the language identifier of the job is used. This value allows a program to be compiled once and used with different language identifiers at run time. This is the default value.
  • *JOB: The language identifier of the program will be resolved at compile time.
  • language-identifier-name: Select the language identifier from the list to be used by the job.
Off
Source stream file Specifies the path name of the stream file containing the ILE COBOL source code to be compiled. The path name can be either absolutely or relatively qualified. An absolute path name starts with /; a relative path name starts with a character other than /. If absolutely qualified, the path name is complete. If relatively qualified, the path name is completed by appending the job's current working directory to the path name. Off
Include directory: Specifies one or more directories to add to the search path used by the compiler to find copy files. The compiler will search the directories specified here if the copy files specified in the source code cannot be resolved by looking in the current directory. Off
