There are scenarios in which you may want to customize
the way that hex characters are displayed in the editor. For example,
some hex characters that represent 5250 or 3270 display attributes may display
as the ? character while you may prefer that a blank space is displayed
instead. You can use the LPEX editor preferences to customize how
characters are displayed.
Procedure
- Access the preferences. Click .
- Click Add to open the Configure
The Mapping dialog.
- Populate the fields of the dialog to specify the display
character for the host character.
- Host Code Page
- Select the host code page associated with the host character.
- Host Code Point Type
- Select the type of the code point. The type can be single value
or range value.
- Host Code Point
- Assign the code point of the host char in the specified code page.
- Display Character
- Input the display character that will be the substitute character
displayed in the view. The Unicode Hexadecimal value will automatically
displayed in Display Character Hex Value.
- Display Character Hex Value
- Specify the Hexadecimal value of the display character. The Display
Character field will be automatically updated.
