DBCS graphic for ILE COBOL

Select one of the two check boxes to specify how the compiler handles DBCS-graphic data types.

Note:
If both PICXGRAPHIC and PICGGRAPHIC are selected, the compiler will use PICGGRAPHIC.

*PICXGRAPHIC
Fixed-length graphic data types are declared as fixed-length alphanumeric (X-type) fields, and are accessible to the program.

When the *VARCHAR option is also in use, variable-length DBCS-graphic data types are declared as fixed-length group items, and are accessible to the program.

*PICGGRAPHIC
Fixed-length graphic data types are declared as fixed-length graphic (G-type) fields, and are accessible to the program.

When the *VARCHAR option is also in use, variable-length DBCS-graphic data types are declared as fixed-length group items (made of a numeric field followed by G type field), and are accessible to the ILE COBOL source program.

Note:
This option is only valid for release V3R6M0 or greater of the ILE COBOL compiler.

*NOPICXGRAPHIC and *NOPICGGRAPHIC
Graphic data types are ignored and are declared as FILLER fields.
