You can create new launch configurations by copying existing launch
configurations.
Procedure
- Open the Debug launch configurations dialog
box. Instructions for doing this can be found in Starting
to debug.
- In the Debug launch configurations dialog
box, right-click the launch configuration that you would like to copy. You
may need to expand the launch configuration type node to find the launch configuration.
- Choose Duplicate from the pop-up menu.
- The duplicate launch configuration appears below the launch configuration
that it was copied from (with (<number>) appended to the launch
configuration name). Its settings are the same as the launch configuration
that was copied. These appear on the right pane of the Debug launch
configurations dialog box.
- Alter these settings as necessary for your new launch configuration.
Further information about these settings can be found in debugger help task
files which describe creating launch configurations.
Tip: If
you use the default command (SBMJOB for Batch, CALL for Interactive and Multithreaded)
and the initial program to construct the startup command in the How to Start
tab of your original launch configuration, and you change the initial program
in the duplicated configuration, the startup command for the duplicated configuration
will be updated using the changed initial program.
- If all information mandatory to the launch configuration has been
provided, the Debug and Apply push
buttons will be enabled. Clicking Apply will save the
launch configuration, at which point you can choose to close the dialog box
without launching the debug session or you can click Debug to
launch a debug session using the new launch configuration. If you click Debug,
any changes to the launch configuration will be saved and a debug session
will be launched.
After you have saved a debug launch configuration,
you may edit it. For further information about editing debug launch configurations,
see the related task below.
Tip: If you have not yet saved
launch configuration settings and if you have made entries in the launch configuration
settings that you would like to remove or change, clicking Revert will
remove all changes that you have made.
- When you are finished working in the dialog box, click Close to
exit it.
