Displaying variable attributes

The variable attributes are the size (in bytes) and type of the variable. To display the attributes, use the Attribute (ATTR) debug command.

The following is an example using the ATTR debug command.

CL declaration: DCL VAR(&CHAR2) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(10)

Debug command: ATTR &CHAR2

Result: TYPE = FIXED LENGTH STRING, LENGTH = 10 BYTES

CL declaration: DCL VAR(&DEC) TYPE(*DEC) LEN(3 1)

Debug command: ATTR &DEC

Result: TYPE = PACKED(3,1), LENGTH = 2 BYTES
