Region-wide defaults

CEEROPT can be used in the same manner as CEEDOPT and CEECOPT to specify runtime options. CEEROPT can be used to set runtime option defaults for Language Environment in a CICS region, an IMS region, or an MVS batch job region using Library Routine Retention. The fact that CEEROPT resides in its own load module avoids the maintenance problems associated with linking it into a load module containing executable code. CEEROPT will be loaded and merged with the installation runtime options default during region initialization.

CEEROPT is optional. During environment initialization, an attempt to locate CEEROPT is performed. If it is found, the runtime options specified within it will be merged with the installation defaults specified in CEEDOPT or CEECOPT.

For information on how to set region-wide default runtime options for Language Environment, see Language Environment for z/OS Customization.
