To use local syntax check, right-click on a member in theMVS Subproject and select Syntax Check>Local or right-click in the LPEX editor and select Syntax Check>Local.
When you request a local syntax check for a remote COBOL or PL/I CA Endevor® SCM controlled members, all dependencies (such as copybooks and include files) are cached in a temporary location in your workspace. Developer for System z also stores the list of files as a property of the remote file. This search and temporary caching enables Developer for System z to complete a syntax check. Before checking syntax locally, you may need to associate the MVSProject (or the member in it) to a property group and set the Local Compiler Options in COBOL Settings or PL/I Settings. You need to set the Local Compiler Options only once and only if you want to override the default values. All other options specified in the property group are ignored.
