Rational Developer for System z, Version 7.6

Language restrictions on CICS resource definitions

CICS® resource names and other alphanumeric resource attributes are usually limited to the characters that are common in all variants of EBCDIC. This does not include bidirectional or DBCS characters.

Although CICS allows a wider range of characters in some types of resource names, the Resource Definition Editor does not support the full range of special characters. The editor does not accept some special characters. For precise information about the valid characters for each resource type and attribute, see the CICS Resource Definition Guide (SC34-7000).

Resource descriptions within the Application Deployment Manager manifest editor are only displayed in the editor and are not used while defining resources to CICS.
