Rational Developer for System z, Version 7.6

Using the Fields view

The CARMA Fields Table view displays a single level of the CARMA hierarchy along with columns of information for the displayed CARMA items. The information displayed depends on the CARMA type being displayed. For example, RAM items are displayed with RAM ID, RAM Version, RAM Level, Description, and Refresh Time. The information displayed with Repository Instances or CARMA content is pulled from the member info for the item. The particular member info displayed is determined based on the RAM. The items are retrieved from and can be configured by the RAM as explained in the CARMA RAM Developer's Guide.

While the CARMA Fields table view only displays a single level of the CARMA hierarchy it is possible to change the level that is currently displayed. The levels of the hierarchy can be navigated down using the Go Into action on the context menu. You may also Go Into by double-clicking on a CARMA item which contains children (Connection, RAM, Repository Instance, Filter, or container). In order to move up the hierarchy you can use the Go Up action on the toolbar. This will set the current level to be 1 level up from the current level. It is also possible to use the forward and back buttons on the toolbar to move between previous levels.
