EMPTY returns an area of zero extent. It can be used to free all allocations in an area.
|
The value of this function is assigned to an area variable when the variable is allocated. Consider this example:
declare A area,
I based (P),
J based (Q);
allocate I in(A), J in (A);
A = empty();
/* Equivalent to: free I in (A), J in (A); */
