The resources section lists the resources in the manifest file. Resource selection, name, type, description, and state are displayed.
Selecting the selection check box for a resource indicates that it should be installed and enabled. It is selected by default. For those resources that have a state of enable only it is selected, but grayed out since enable only resources cannot be installed. Deselecting this box lets you defer defining or installing a resource in CICS®without actually deleting it from the manifest file.
The following CICS resource definitions are supported by the Resource Definition Editor and may be added, edited, removed from the manifest file, or discarded from CICS by selecting the appropriate button to the right of the list of resources. Resources defined in the manifest may then be installed into a running CICS region. A map set and Program resource may be enabled by the CICS Resource Definition server that issues a Phase-in command.
Installing a BUNDLE resource may cause additional CICS resources to be created and installed. The additional resources created by a BUNDLE installation are not shown in the Application Deployment Manager manifest file. In addition, resources created by a bundle installation may restrict your ability to disable or discard the bundle.
In addition the following resources may be added or removed from the manifest. They have an enable only state. Therefore their attributes cannot be edited, and they cannot be installed. Enable actions are as follows:
Resources may have states of defer install, defined in manifest, edited, CICS install error, CICS install successfully, enable only, or existing name in CICS.
At any time you can click the Verify existing resources button that checks for resources in the target region by the same name and resource type. Only those resources with a state listed as defined in manifest or CICS install error will be checked. If an existing resource of the same name and resource type is found, the state will change to existing name in CICS.
If the Verify against all connected regions check box is checked the primary connection region and all active MRO connected regions are checked.
