The BMS Map Set wizard guides you through the creation
of a new map set.
You must create a local BMS map set in an existing project
in your workspace. On a remote system, you must create a map set within
an MVS™ project, in an existing
host data set.
To create a new map set, complete the following steps:
- Click . You can also use the keystroke
combination Ctrl+N.
- Expand the z/OS category.
- Select .
- Click Next.
- In the BMS File Location panel,
browse to the location that you want in a local project or in a PDS
on the host. You can modify the file name, but the file extension
must remain .bms.
- To create a default map set, click Finish.
The map set creation is complete. To specify map set attributes
or to link to an MVS project,
proceed to the next step.
- Click Next to set specific attributes.
- You can specify the following map set attributes:
- Name
- The name of the map set
- Description
- A description of the map set
- Language
- One of the following values:
- Type
- One of the following values:
- Physical
- Symbolic
- &SYSPARM
- Template
- Terminal
- One of the following values:
- ALL
- CRLP
- DISK
- TWX
- 1050
- 2740
- 2770
- 2780
- 3780
- 3270-1

- To create a map that is the size of the map set, select Create
full screen map.
- If you want to add the new .bms file
to an existing MVS subproject,
select Add to MVS Project, and click the project
name on the list.
- Click Finish to finish creating
the map set.
The new map set and associated project name are displayed
in the Project Explorer view under Other Projects.
