Creating an empty manifest in a z/OS project

You can create an empty Application Deployment Manager manifest in a z/OS project apart from project generation.
Before you can create an empty manifest in a z/OS project, you must create a z/OS project and create connection to a CICS resource definition server. (Go to Window > Preferences > Connections, and specify connection, location, and authentication information.)
To create an empty manifest in a z/OS project, complete the following steps:
  1. In the z/OS Projects view, right-click a project name, and select Deploy CICS Resources. A Manage Related CICS Resources window is displayed.
  2. Click New. A Create New Manifest window is displayed.
  3. Specify the file name of the manifest, select a CICS region to which requests will be sent for this manifest, and click OK. A new manifest is created.
  4. In the Manage Related CICS Resources window, click OK or Edit. The new manifest is opened in the Resource Definition Editor.
  5. To add a resource to the manifest, complete the following steps in the Resource Definition Editor:
    1. Click Add. An Add Resource window is displayed.
    2. Specify the resource name, resource type, description, and resource attribute values, and click OK. The specified resource is added to the manifest.
    3. When you are done adding resources, click File > Save. The edited file is saved.
  6. To add additional resources, repeat the previous step.
  7. When you are done adding resources to the manifest, close the Resource Definition Editor.
