You can integrate and customize JavaServer Faces Components for BusinessObjects Enterprise for use in a wide variety of styles of applications.
This style of application makes full use of all the components and managed beans, to provide the greatest scope of functionality for end users. Use the Identity bean and Logon component to create logon functionality that enables a user to access the system. Use the EnterpriseItem and EnterpriseItems beans with the ItemsGrid component to render lists of the items the user wants to work with. Or, if the user wants to view reports, add a ReportPageViewer component to the page.
To integrate BusinessObjects Enterprise functionality into the broad array of resources and services in an integrated system, such as your current web portal application, you can add a small subset of the components and managed beans. Use one or more EnterpriseItem and EnterpriseItems beans, combined with a ReportPageViewer component, to easily integrate report viewing into your portal's user interface. You can also integrate an ItemsGrid component into your application to list items associated with that user's account.
This style is well suited for incorporating BusinessObjects Enterprise functionality into existing business applications. The Identity, EnterpriseItem, and EnterpriseItems managed beans, which encapsulate BusinessObjects Enterprise information, embed easily into the existing user interface of your applications, without making use of the visual controls.
