Examining remote databases by using UML class diagrams

You can create read-only Unified Modeling Language (UML) class diagrams to analyze remote databases through Java™ Database Connectivity (JDBC) connections.

To examine a remote database with a UML class diagram, in the Data perspective, in the Database Explorer view, right-click a remote database or data objects; then click Visualize > Add to New Diagram File > Class Diagram.
Note: You can create UML class diagram views of remote databases for examination purpose only. You cannot modify or update remote databases or data objects directly in the diagram editor.
