Referencing interactions from within other interactions

In Unified Modeling Language (UML) sequence diagrams, you can reference an interaction from the body of another interaction for the purpose of visual representation. This reference is called an interaction occurrence. You can then reuse the definitions in an interaction to abstract and simplify your application.

You can add and modify interaction occurrences in sequence diagrams to visually represent interactions for Java™ or Enterprise JavaBeans™ (EJB) applications.

You can double click an interaction occurrence to open the referenced interaction in another sequence diagram. if you delete an interaction occurrence, the referenced interaction remains intact.
