Configuring CM server support for the Rational ClearCase remote client

These topics explain how to configure the CM Server to support the Rational® ClearCase® remote client.

• Modifying configuration defaults
  Many Rational ClearCase remote client configuration defaults can be modified by setting MBean attributes on the CM Server.
• Setting a default view text mode
  To better support parallel development in mixed environments, a text mode setting is provided for views that controls how line terminators are handled when text files are presented to applications.
• Ensuring compatible character set encodings
  If a client and server use incompatible character-set encodings, many Rational ClearCase operations fail.

  When CM Server runs on a Windows server, users of ClearCase clients supported by that server must be given permission to log on locally.
• Creating a user region map
  A user region map enables you to specify a Rational ClearCase registry region to which a user or group will be given access when using the Rational ClearCase remote client. A user or group named in a region map can access only those VOBs that have tags in a particular region.
