Rational ClearCase data is stored in several types of repositories:
- Information that enables clients to access repositories without needing to know the details of where they are hosted is maintained in the Rational ClearCase registry.
- Versioned artifacts are kept in versioned object bases (VOBs), which are implemented using an embedded database management system.
- Artifact workspaces called views are supported by view databases, which are implemented using the same embedded database management system.
Note: Rational ClearCase can be integrated with Rational ClearQuest®, a change request management application that creates its own change request database. Your data administration plan should include the Rational ClearQuest repositories if your Rational ClearCase community also uses Rational ClearQuest.
