In addition to its object, every VOB or view must have a tag in
the registry before it can be accessed by most Rational® ClearCase® applications.
VOB tags and view tags serve similar purposes and control access to VOBs
and views in similar ways. A VOB or view can have at most one object in a
given registry, but can have zero or more tags.

Registry regions
Each Rational ClearCase client
is a member of a single registry region and can access only those
VOBs and views whose tags are registered in that region.
