Viewing Help on Japanese AIX

Some Rational® ClearCase® Help is provided in PDF files, which requires Adobe Reader for viewing. Because a Japanese version of Adobe Reader is unavailable for AIX, an English version of Adobe Reader can be used for this purpose, using the following steps:

  1. At the AIX command line, enter the locale command. The command output should verify that the locale on your computer is set to JA-JP. If it is not, enter the following commands:

    setenv LANG ja_JP
setenv NLSPATH path to the proper message catalog

  2. Start xclearcase.
  3. On the AIX command line, reset the locale to C. For example, enter the following command if C is the default locale on your computer:

    unsetenv LANG

  4. Start the Mozilla browser.
  5. In the xclearcase window, click Help > Help Topics. The Help main page displays in Mozilla.

When you click a manual title in Help, its PDF file should open in Adobe Reader.
