When attempting to display fonts on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 9, the error message “cannot create fontset” is displayed. To fix this, set the environment language variable LANG to C, en_US.iso885915, or a locale that you used successfully in earlier Red Hat Releases.
