Usually when you set up a work environment, you establish
a separate view for each development project to which you contribute. Setting
up a view involves the following tasks.
- Choosing a snapshot view or dynamic view
Windows tip: If you are working on a Windows system and you plan to access
source files stored in VOBs on Linux® or the UNIX® system, you may need to create your
view in MS-DOS text mode, depending on how your shared source files handle
line termination sequences.
- Choosing a location and name
- Creating a view using the cleartool mkview command
or the View Creation Wizard
- If you work on Linux or the UNIX system, adjusting your umask
- Adding or modifying version-selection rules
- Selecting elements to load by adding or modifying load rules
in snapshot views
