To access someone else's snapshot view from Rational ClearCase Explorer (Windows)

To access a snapshot view that is not registered by you, create a view shortcut in Rational® ClearCase® Explorer. If the root directory of the snapshot view is shareable, do the following on your computer:

  1. Click the Views tab, right-click in the Shortcut pane, and click Add View Shortcut.
  2. In the Add a New View Shortcut window, click the browse button to the right of the Snapshot Location field; navigate to and select the shareable root directory under My Network Places or Network Neighborhood; and click OK.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click the view shortcut.
The view is now registered for your use on any Windows computer if you use a roaming user profile. If you use a local user profile, the view is now registered for your use on this computer only. Click the view shortcut to access the snapshot view.
Tip: You cannot register a snapshot view that was created from a UNIX host.
