To check out using the Open window (Windows)

The Open window that many applications use is actually part of Rational® ClearCase® Explorer. Right-clicking a loaded version of a Rational ClearCase element in the Open window displays a Rational ClearCase shortcut menu.

To check out a file from an Open window:

  1. In an application (for example, Microsoft® Notepad), click File > Open.
  2. In the Open window, select the file or directory that is under source control.
  3. Right-click the file and click ClearCase > Check Out.
