To load an empty version of an element (Windows)

To load an empty version of an element, complete the following steps:

In the Rational® ClearCase® Explorer Shortcut pane, perform one of the following actions:
- Click Toolbox. Then click Base ClearCase > Edit View Properties. In the Edit View Properties window, click Snapshot, select the view, and click OK.
- Click Views. Then, from the drop-down menu, click the page containing the shortcut for the snapshot view and click the shortcut. In the Folder pane, right-click the view root directory and click Properties of View.
In the Properties window, click Config Spec.
On the Config Spec page, click Edit to make the rules editable.
Type an element rule specifying the initial version of the element you want to exclude by using the following syntax:
```
element vob-tag\element-path\main\0
```
In the Properties window, click OK.
