To register a snapshot view using cleartool update (UNIX system and Linux)

To register a snapshot view that you did not create or have not updated, complete the following procedure:
  1. Change your working directory to the root directory of the snapshot view.
  2. From that directory, use either cleartool update or cleartool update -print.
The view is now registered for your use. The preview form of the command (update -print) is quicker than update and does not change the loaded files.
UNIX system and Linux tip: You cannot register a snapshot view that was created from a Windows host.
