To add activities to your development stream from Rational ClearCase®
Tip: Your organization may have policies regarding
the scope of an activity. For example, your organization may specify that
all activities must refer to a change request in your change request management
system. After you add an activity, it remains in your stream permanently.
On the UNIX system or Linux, enter the following command from your development
view:
Optionally provides a description of the activity. Creates
a headline that describes the scope and purpose of the activity. If the headline
contains space characters, enclose it in double quotes.
activity-selector
Optionally provides an alphanumeric string to use when issuing cleartool commands.
The specifier must be unique within the project VOB. If you do not provide
an activity selector, mkactivity prompts for confirmation
of a generated name for the activity.
On Windows systems, add activities from file operations windows in a project
that is enabled for Rational® ClearQuest®:
In a Check Out, Check In, or Add to Source Control window (which open
as part of the corresponding operation), click New.
The New menu displays all record
types in the Rational ClearQuest user
database for your project that are enabled for UCM.
From the New menu, choose a record type.
In the Submit window, complete the required fields, which are highlighted
in red.
Click OK to add the activity to your to-do list.
To add this activity to your stream (and set it in your view), click OK.
Tip: There are other methods for adding activities
to a Rational ClearQuest user
database and to a UCM stream.
