To remove files from source control in Visual Studio
When you follow
this procedure, the equivalent of the cleartoolrmname command
is performed for the files that you select. Removing a file from source code
control without removing it from the project is not recommended (and cannot
be accomplished from the graphical interface).
From Visual Basic
Set up Visual Basic to prompt you to remove files
from source control when you remove them from a project (see Set
up Visual Basic and Visual J++ to remove files from source control).
From Visual C++ and Visual J++
Tip: From Visual J++, instead of using
this procedure, you can set up Visual J++ to prompt you to remove files from
source control when you remove them from a project (see
Set up Visual Basic and Visual J++ to remove files from source control).
Set up Visual Basic and Visual J++ to remove files from source control
Perform either of the following actions:
Change default Visual Basic behavior by selecting Yes or Ask under Remove
files from source control when deleting them from the VB project? (more
information is available on changing defaults for the integration with Visual
Basic).
Change default Visual J++ behavior by choosing Prompt under After
item add, remove or rename (more information is available on changing
the defaults for the integration with Visual J++).
