To share files in Visual Studio

You can share files from Visual Basic, Visual J++, and Visual C++.

  1. Check out the Visual Studio project.
  2. Perform one of the following actions:
    • If you are using Visual Basic, click Tools > ClearCase > Share Files.
    • If you are using Visual J++ or Visual C++, click Project > Source Control > Share from ClearCase.
  3. In the Select ClearCase Link Target window, select a file in the current VOB. (Because a VOB hard link is created to the file or directory that you select, the target must be an element in the current VOB.)
  4. To make your link to the file a read-only access point, select the Read Only check box.
  5. Perform one of the following actions:
    • If you are using Visual Basic, click Open.
    • If you are using Visual J++ or Visual C++, click OK.
The directory is checked out, the VOB hard link is created, and then the directory is checked in for you.
