Snapshot views, which copy files from data repositories
called VOBs (versioned object bases) onto your computer. You must update snapshot
views to make sure they contain the versions specified by the stream (in UCM)
or config spec (in base ClearCase®).
Dynamic views, which use a Rational® ClearCase file
system, the MVFS (multiversion file system), to provide immediate, transparent
access to the data in VOBs. Such a view updates itself with new versions created
in other views.
Product note: Dynamic views
are not available on systems using Rational ClearCase LT.
