To start the Merge Manager from File browser (Linux and the UNIX system)
Start the Merge Manager from the context
of a view that is not associated with a UCM project or without view context.
If you work in a UCM project, start a merge in the context of
a deliver or rebase operation.
If the target versions are checked out to your view
for other reasons, create a pre-merge checkpoint by checking them in. To make
it easier to find this checkpoint, consider labeling the versions.
In the display area of the File Browser, navigate to the directory
of the view containing the objects to be merged.
Select an object or objects of interest.
Click Versions > Findmerge and select one of the following
commands to restrict the Find Merge search:
Whole
VOB, Any VOB, Current subtree, Current
dir, or Selected items
Click one of the following commands:
Command
Description
From .../branch/LATEST > view
To find all elements
that need merging from the latest on a branch to the version seen by the current
view. A browser prompts for the branch.
From label > view
To find all elements that need merging from
a particular labeled version to the version seen by the current view. A browser
prompts for the label.
From version-id > view
To find all elements that need merging from
a particular version specified by a query to the version seen by the current
view. A text box prompts for the version-id query.
From another view > view
To find all elements that need merging from
the version of an element seen in another view to the version seen by the
current view. A browser prompts for the view tag.
LATEST > checkedout
To find all elements that are checked out
to the current view and need the latest version on the branch from which they
were checked out to be merged to the checked-out version.
