The Tools menu
includes the following commands:
- Check out
- Lets you convert a hijacked file to a checkout. It is available when you
select a hijacked file in the right pane of the window.
- Check in
- Adds a new version to a file or folder element that you checked out previously.
It is available only when the item that you selected is checked out.
- Undo checkout
- Cancels a checkout, which returns the element to the state and content
that it was in before you checked it out.
- Undo hijacked file
- Overwrites the hijacked file currently selected with the version that
was loaded into the view. It is available when you choose a file from Hijacked.
- Update (on Linux and the UNIX system) or Update
view (on a Windows system)
- Starts an update for the selected object. This option is available when
you select one of following objects:
- History
- Starts the History Browser, which shows the event records for the element
that you selected. Each event record contains information about an operation
(for example, checkin) that changed the element in its VOB.
- Compare with old version
- Starts a graphic tool that examines the differences between the hijacked
or checked-out version in your view and the version that was checked in to
the VOB originally.
- Compare with new version
- Starts a graphical tool that examines the differences between the hijacked
or checked-out version in your view and the version in the VOB that is selected
by the config spec.
- Version tree
- Starts the Version Tree Browser, which displays a graphic representation
of the relationships among the selected element versions and branches.
- Properties of old version
- Displays a Rational® ClearCase® property
window, which provides information specific to Rational ClearCase source
control concerning the selected version in the Old Version column.
- Properties of new version
- Displays a Rational ClearCase property
window, which provides information specific to Rational ClearCase source
control concerning the selected version in the New Version column.
