Update Tool

The Rational® ClearCase® Update Tool synchronizes elements that are loaded into a snapshot view with the versions in the VOB, using its default update options.

The Update Tool window arranges the results of the update into categories. It reports the results of the following operations:

• Update operations
• Update previews
• Searches for hijacked files and checked-out files

The window lets you perform various related operations, for example, resolving hijacks.

  You can view error messages that are generated during an update.
• To save update results to a file
  You can save the results of an update operation to a file.
• To start the Update Tool from CLI
  You can start the Update Tool from the command line interface (CLI).
• To start the Update Tool from Windows Explorer
  You can start the Update Tool from Rational ClearCase Explorer or Windows Explorer.
