The element log contains messages returned from Rational® ClearCase® tools during the find and merge operations.
Each sequence of messages is outlined using the following format:
>>> name operation started: date time-of-day ... >>> name operation finished: date time-of-day
The displayed lines of messages in the sequence record the Rational ClearCase steps in the merge, for example, branch creation, checkouts, and the location of merged output.
For each message in the element log, the software indicates in the main window the related status with an icon to the left of the element name. Use the icons to detect problems and use the related messages in the element log to help analyze and fix the problems. A shortcut menu is available in the log so that you can run tools.
