About checking out elements

Use the Check Out command to make file elements writable in your view.

The Check Out command is available from:

• The ClearCase menu on the JBuilder menu bar
• The shortcut menu in the project pane
• The ClearCase toolbar
  

If you do not check out a file, you cannot save your changes to it. To preserve your saved changes, you check in the file when you are done making changes or you discard your changes by canceling the checkout.
