About comparing an element version to its predecessor

Use the Compare with Previous Version command to start the Diff Merge tool. You use the Diff Merge tool to display the differences between the version of an element in your view and its immediate predecessor in the VOB. This display is particularly useful when you want to examine the differences between the version you want to check in and the version you checked out. It is also useful for the differences between the latest version in the VOB and its predecessor.

The Compare with Previous Version command is available from:

• The ClearCase menu on the JBuilder menu bar
• The shortcut menu in the project pane
• The ClearCase toolbar
