When the Rational® ClearCase® integration with Office is used with Word, the Diff and Merge functions work differently from earlier versions of Microsoft Word.
For example, when you compare documents, two windows appear . The top window contains the comparison results. When you close that window, you are prompted to save a temporary document. You can safely answer No to this prompt. You must then close the window that was behind the comparison window.
When you merge two documents, two windows appear also. The top window contains the merge results. After you resolve merge choices and close that window, you are prompted to save the merge results. After you respond, you are prompted to save a temporary document. You can safely answer No to that prompt.
