To
use the Rational® ClearCase® integration
with Visual Studio, you must adhere to certain requirements.
- Do one of the following
- Install Rational ClearCase after
installing Visual Studio.
- When installing Visual Studio, choose a custom install. Then choose
to not install Visual Source Safe or make Visual Source Safe the source code
control program.
- When you are working with Visual Basic, save all .frm and .frx files
for a project in the same directory.
Installing Rational ClearCase sets
up the integration with Visual Basic and Visual J++ by adding a toolbar and
commands to menus.
Installing Rational ClearCase partially
sets up the integration with Visual C++ by adding commands to the source control
menu. You can also set up the following interfaces:
- The source control toolbar, which contains buttons for the
operations on the source control menu
- The Rational ClearCase Add-In,
which installs a toolbar with additional Rational ClearCase operations
- A configuration for the omake build facility,
which you can use to build your Visual C++ project
