Creating combined fragments in sequence diagrams

In sequence diagrams, you can create combined fragments to visually represent constructs, such as options, alternatives, loops, in interactions. Each type of combined fragment is defined by its operator.
You must have a sequence diagram with lifelines open.
To create a combined fragment, in the Palette, click a combined fragment type and complete one of the following steps:
Note: You can exclude specific lifelines from the combined fragment regardless of their order in the interaction frame by clearing them from selection in the Add Covered Lifeline window.
