You can modify SQL statements that you created in the SQL builder.
You can also modify SQL statements that you created in the SQL
editor if the code in the statement is a single DML statement that is valid
and supported. If the code is a single DML statement but it is invalid or
unsupported, you can open the statement in the SQL builder. However, in this
case only the SQL source pane is available for editing the SQL statement.
Prerequisite: The
statement that you want to edit must exist in a data project in the Data Project
Explorer view.
To edit an SQL statement in the SQL builder:
- Switch to the Data perspective.
- In the Data Project Explorer view, expand a data project.
- Expand the folder that contains the SQL statement to edit.
- If the statement is in an SQL Scripts folder,
expand the SQL Scripts folder.
- If
the statement is in a physical data model in a data design project, expand
the Data Models folder. Double-click the physical data
model (.dbm) file to open it. Expand the physical data model, the database,
and then the SQL Statements folder.
- Right-click the SQL statement to edit, and then click on
the pop-up menu. The statement opens in the SQL builder.
- Edit the SQL statement, and then save it. If you
are editing a statement that is in a physical data model, save the physical
data model. When you save the physical data model, you save all the data objects
in the physical data model that have outstanding changes.
