Creating SQL statements in the SQL builder by using the File menu

You can use the File menu to create an SQL statement in the SQL builder.

The SQL builder supports creating SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, FULLSELECT, and WITH (DB2® only) statements. A statement that you create is stored in a file with the extension .sql.

To create an SQL statement in the SQL builder by using the File menu:

  1. Open the Data perspective.
  2. Click File > New > SQL or XQuery Script.
  3. Complete the New SQL or XQuery Script wizard, clicking SQL builder and selecting a statement type.
