Lesson 1.4: Describing the new Audit2007 asset

In this lesson, you learn how to use the New Asset Wizard and describe the Audit2007 asset.

In this lesson, open the New Asset Wizard, and describe the new asset, providing the required descriptors and custom descriptors, for example tags

Opening the New Asset Wizard

Use the following steps to open the New Asset Wizard:
  1. In the Navigator view of the Resource perspective, locate the Audit2007 project.
  2. Right-click the Audit2007 project, click New > Other, and then expand Asset Management.
  3. Select Asset and click Next.
  4. Describe the asset in the New Asset window:
    1. Choose an active repository connection to submit the asset to in the Target Repository list. If you do not have an active repository connection, create one from the Repository Navigator view.
    2. Type a name for the asset:SampleAuditAsset,
    3. Type the version for the asset: 1.0
    4. Select the Service Development community.
    5. Choose the Service Design asset type. Refer to the table in Lesson 1.1 to help you determine why this is the correct asset type.
    6. Type this short description: This is the new Audit2007 process and tool design.
    7. Type this description: This was designed between 2002-2007 in the New York branch.
    8. Type the following tag to further describe the asset: Software, Hardware, "Physical Assets" Use commas to separate tags and group two word tags with double quotation markes (" ").
  5. Click Next.
You will complete the wizard in the following lessons. The next lesson will walk you through how to evaluate and categorize the asset.
