Lesson 1.5: Categorizing the asset

In this lesson, you complete the New Asset Wizard and categorize the new asset.

A repository administrator creates the repository-level category schemas. When you categorize an asset, the asset is tagged with searchable metadata that helps other users find the asset. The categories are also searched when individuals use the keyword search. This means that if you categorize the asset using the Audit category and a user searches using the keyword Audit, the asset will be listed in the Search Results view.

Categorize the asset using the following steps:

  1. On the Asset page, categorize the assets in the Business Domain category
    1. Select the Business Administrationcheck box.
    2. Under Financial Services, click Product Administration radio button.
  2. Further categorize the asset by geography. Expand the New Business Development category and click Sector Management radio button.
  3. Verify that the categorization resembles the following:

You categorized the new Audit2007 asset. In the following lessons, you will complete the asset submission process and search for the asset using these categories.
