To define the service taxonomy, service operations and interfaces, it should be noted that services are not necnecessarilycassarily restricted to software services. The service is the interface to some system or other means of implementation of the behavior.

This is another level of abstraction beyond the HOW which is detailed in the Systems View it is more of tell me what you need to me do and i will find something to do it. It is intended to remove any implementation from the specification.

Systems views are intended to capture existing and legacy system interactions, service views are intended to specify the behavior and interface of new "things" in a neutral solution format.
