Contains the views required to describe the Operational and high level functional aspects of the architecture (prefix OV).

Main Description

There are 6 operational views covering:

  • The OV-1 high level operational concept as a graphic
    • Should be left till last as it is a summary
    • It is generally used to drive the vision so it is created very early on and heavily influences the implementation
  • Structural elements (Performers/OperationalNodes) and their information relationships (OV-2)
    • Information relationships summarized in a OV-3 table
  • Organizations and their relationships (OV-4)
  • Behavior as Activity diagrams, statecharts and sequence diagrams (OV-5, OV 6a,b,c)
    • Activity diagrams are main means of capturing behavior
