Task: Assess PA 1.1 Process performance attribute according to Generic Practices for PA 1.1

Asses if the intent of the process or practices was met.
Determine if the work products that evidence the process outcomes were produced.

This task supports the assessment of the process and practices at the Process Capability Level 1, Performed Process

The intent of this task is to evaluate a specific process or practice to ensure that the intent of the practice is meant and the relevant work products produced.

The output of this task is an assessment rating represented as the process attribute PA 1.1

The process performance attribute is a measure of the extent to which the process purpose is achieved. As a result of full achievement of this attribute:

a) the process achieves its defined outcomes.

Perform the intent of the base practices.

Produce work products that evidence the process outcomes.

Steps

Link this task to the relevant task representing the process or practice in RTC

This provides formal traceability between the Assessment tasks and the practice or process it is assessing.

Was the intent of the base practices fulfilled for this process ?

Examine the outcomes of the process or practice and compare it expected outcomes from the ASPICE PAM or the practice and process content

Were all the work products developed for the process or practice under assessement ?

Were the correct work products produced as a result of carrying out the process or practice

Determine the how well these objectives were met

Capture the ASPICE capability rating for PA 1.1 in the appropriate work item

Key Considerations

The process defines all the outcomes expected for it to be complete and these outcomes are tied to the expected workproducts.
Each base practice is also related to its related outcomes and expected work products.

NOTE 1 The assessment of a performed process is based on process performance indicators, which are defined in Clause 5 of this document [ISO/IEC 15504-2].
NOTE 2 Generic resources and Generic work products do not exist for the assessment of the PA 1.1 attribute.
