NOTE 3: Items requiring configuration control should include the products that are delivered to the customer, designated internal work products, acquired products, tools and other items that are used in creating and describing these work products.

NOTE 4: Software development configuration items typically are e.g.:

• configuration management plan
• requirements documents, architecture and design documents,
• software development environment,
• software development plan,
• supplier agreements,
• quality assurance plan,
• software units (code) including documentation,
• application parameters,
• test cases and test results, review documentation,
• build list, integration reports and
• customer manuals.

NOTE 5: Items requiring configuration control may also include work products of hardware (layouts, drawings, circuit boards, bills of material, etc.) and mechanical development.
