Best practices have shown that performing IUV in a non-production environment is preferable. DOORS (release 9.3 or
higher) should be installed in a non-production ‘sandbox’ environment with appropriate license allocated to this
sandbox.
To prepare DOORS for IUV, you must perform three primary steps:
-
Install DOORS in a non-production sandbox.
-
Create two users. One each with database manager and standard user access.
-
Restore the DOORS IUV Project Archive
To install DOORS, follow the procedure outlined in the DOORS online help: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/doorshlp/v9/topic/com.ibm.doors.install.doc/topics/c_planninginstallationorupgrade.html
To create new users, follow the procedure outlined in the DOORS online help: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/doorshlp/v9/topic/com.ibm.doors.administering.doc/topics/c_optionsmanageusersgroups.html
The IUV information is stored in a DOORS Project Archive here: DOORS_IUV_Project_Master_Oct_2012.dpa.
When performing the restore, give the project a descriptive name that will be easy for others to identify. For Example:
DOORS Full IUV Project <date>
To restore a project archive, follow the procedure outlined in the DOORS online help: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/doorshlp/v9/topic/com.ibm.doors.administering.doc/topics/t_restoreprojectoramodule.html
