The IUV information in DOORS (release 9.3 or higher) is stored in a series of Folders, Formal Modules and Link Modules. Formal modules are containers that hold the project and product information for your system. These folders and modules come with information structure and content pre-created for most commonly used capabilities of DOORS.

From the DOORS explorer window, the underlying project folder structure is visible. There are five(5) folders contained in the project.

Folder 00 Admin

This contains the Link Modules for the project. Link Modules hold the traceability links between requirements as well as the user-defined rules for legal and illegal links. The linking structure for the IUV project is illustrated below.

Folder 01 Requirements

This folder contains the ‘User Needs’ and ‘Requirements’ Formal modules. The information in these modules will form the ‘top end’ of your traceability chain. The specific contents of these modules is explained further in this guide.

Folder 02 Test Information

This folder contains the Formal modules with Test Case, Test Plan and Test Protocol information.

Folder 03 Data Modules for Test

This folder contains a number of example modules and sub-projects which you may use to exercise the functionality of DOORS.

Folder 04 References

This folder contains a number of placeholder formal modules which you may use as surrogate modules to link to external regulatory information.
