1. Create RTC users for the evaluation
You will create two new additional users for the evaluation. For ease of use in this evaluation, we will allow each
user to have high-level permissions. In a real production environment, users may have limited permissions as defined by
your IT policies.
-
ADMIN / ADMIN (RTC default admin loaded during installation. This user has been disabled.)
-
rational / rational – (created in the previous step)
-
Repository Permission: JazzAdmins
-
Client License: Team Concert Developer

Note: When you log in as a different user that has JazzAdmin rights you may see the Profile of the last user you
edited. Click the drop-down arrow next to the user name in the upper right-hand corner of the page and select View My Profile and Licenses to confirm the settings for the
currently active user.
2. Restore the DCS Example Process Template in RTC
Process templates provide a starting point and guide for a project area process configuration and iteration structure.
They can include process documentation that is in HTML format. Process templates differ from DOORS Archives as they do
not contain actual project data. You apply a process template when you create a project area; the process can then be
modified in the project area or its team areas, independent of the template. To support your evaluation, we have
supplied an example RTC process template.
Perform the following steps to import the process template:
-
Click the following hyperlink to download the example process template and save it to a convenient location: mddc_v1.1.zip (Note: do NOT unzip this file).
-
Log into Rational Team Concert as the user 'rational' and import the template:
-
Start Internet Explorer and navigate to the following URL: https://evalserver:9443/ccm/admin where <evalserver> is
the name of the machine hosting your RTC server.
-
Enter User ID: rational, Password: rational
-
Click Templates in the menu bar to navigate to the Templates page
-
Click Import Template in the upper right-hand corner of the page to access the Import Process Template
dialog
-
Click Browse... and navigate to the zip file you saved in Step 1.
-
Click OK
-
In the list of Process Templates you should now see the "Medical Device Control v1" template available for
use.
3. Create a new RTC project with the imported process template
The final step of this section is to create an example project using the process template previously imported. You can
create a project area in a repository for managing the project deliverables, team structure, process, and schedule.
Perform the following steps to create the example project area in RTC:
-
If you are not already logged into RTC as the user 'rational', so so now
-
Click the menu iterm "Project Areas" and select Create > Project Area
-
Enter the following information on this page:
-
