1. Log in to DOORS as susan/susan. Navigate to the User Needs module, right-click on it and select Open -> Read Only. Select 02 User Needs from the view drop down list. From the module menu, select Change Management -> Requirements Change Management -> Apply.

2. When Susan applies changes to the module, she would like to also create a Baseline, or snapshot, as a record of the state of the module. Check the box “Also create baseline…” Select the work item ID and click Apply All. After the changes have been applied, and the status log appears, click Close. 

3. When prompted to create a new baseline, click OK. Select a Baseline Number from the available options (for example 1.0) and Click OK.

4. Upon re-opening the User Needs module, Susan sees that the changes have been applied to the text.

5. (OPTIONAL) Susan has the option of electronically signing the baseline if needed. The e-signature capability in DOORS was created to be compliant to FDA 21 CFR Part 11 needs. DOORS electronic signatures may only be applied when a Susan re-verifies her identity.

From the menu select File->Baseline->View. 

Click Signatures.

Click Sign.

Select Approved from the Signature Label, and then click OK.

Revalidate Susan's identity by typing susan/susan and then click OK.
