Description
Predictability is the degree to which a project team can accurately forecast successful project completion.
Improving predictability also refers to the ability to reduce uncertainties in the project in order to increase
estimation accuracy. Understanding the uncertainly in a project reduces the probability of project failure,
because the team is aware of potential problems.
Improving predictability helps the team produce a realistic plan that can be executed. Teams that lack
predictability will not be able to accurately plan their release, prioritize the features to be delivered, or
determine the quality of the product.
