| Note: Prior to performing an import, the Gateway project must be configured to create the link between the Rhapsody
project and the DOORS module(s).
Having created traceability links between requirements imported from DOORS® and model artifacts, it is often required
to export these links back to DOORS for analysis and reporting purposes.
Let's say, in the Rhapsody® project, we have <<trace>> links between a use case and some requirements
imported from DOORS. Note that these links could be of other stereotypes such as <<refine>> or
<<satisfy>>.
To export these links to DOORS, we use the IBM® Rational® Rhapsody® Gateway Add On. Invoke Gateway by right-clicking on
the project and selecting Rational Rhapsody Gateway Synchronize.
Click Yes to reanalyze the project.
Gateway and the Rhapsody/DOORS Synchronization wizard are invoked. Check only the "Export model to DOORS" option and
click Next.
In the next screen select the appropriate model packages containing the links, the linked artifacts and the appropriate
types of model data to export. Fill in the appropriate DOORS login information and select the appropriate DOORS
project.
Click Perform Sync. Upon completion, a message will appear.
You can now navigate these links in DOORS.
As new traceability links are created, you can keep the DOORS module(s) synchronized with them by using
the same Gateway Synchronize menu as detailed above. In this case, unless you want to change some of the settings, you
can click the Perform Synch button on the first screen of the Rhapsody/DOORS Synchronization wizard.
Note that this tool mentor has only covered basic steps. The Rhapsody/DOORS Synchronization provides
many advanced options which were not covered here. For more details on these advanced options, please refer to the tool
help provided with Rhapsody Gateway.
