Update and maintain a manual test script

In this tutorial, you will edit content in a saved script. You will then open the second script to see that Manual Tester has automatically updated the statements there, too. The ability to edit saved statements in one script and apply those edits to many scripts can save time and aggravation.

Learning objectives

In this tutorial you will update the CreateTutorial.rmt script to reflect changes in the application. You can find an example, TutorialUpdate.rmt, of the completed script in the install-location/SampleScripts folder where where install-location is the Installation Directory for Rational^® Manual Tester..

After completing this tutorial, you will be able to perform the following tasks:

Update a script that contains statements that were developed previously and reused
Include a new statement in an existing manual test script
Update saved statements in a script and see that Manual Test updates all scripts that use the saved statements

This tutorial assumes that you have completed the Reuse saved content in a manual test script Tutorial, have completed the Manual Tester Product Tour, and are familiar with the IBM^® Rational Manual Tester user interface.
