Specifying sources and targets for C++-to-UML transformations

You can select the code project or code elements on which to run a transformation, and specify a UML model where the transformation generates UML elements.

The source that you specify in the transformation configuration must be created using the C/C++ Development Tools (CDT). You can specify a C++ project, a C++ source folder in a project, or C++ source files as the transformation source.

Note: If you enable the reverse transformation, you must specify a C++ project as the transformation source, and the project must be created using CDT. The reverse transformation transforms UML model elements into C++ code elements and stores these code elements in the C++ project or folder that you specify.

A valid transformation target is a UML model.

To specify the source and target of a transformation:

  1. In the navigation view, right-click a transformation configuration file; then click Open.
  2. Click the Source and Target tab.
  3. In the Selected source pane, select a valid transformation source.
  4. In the Selected target pane, select a valid transformation target.
Note: To create a new target location, click Create New Target Container and complete the pages in the wizard.
  5. Click File > Save.
The options are applied the next time that you run the transformation.
Note: If you create a new transformation configuration, you can specify this information on the Source and Target page of the New Transformation Configuration wizard.
