You can enable a reverse transformation
if it is supported and installed. Reverse transformations enable you to recover
changes to the model or recover changes to source code. This process is useful
when the model and code are developed concurrently.
When you enable the reverse transformation
in a Java-to-UML transformation configuration,
specific tasks are available for you to specify how the transformation generates
output when you run the UML-to-Java,
or reverse, transformation.
Enabling reverse transformations You can enable the reverse transformation, which enables you to
run the UML-to-Java transformation without creating a separate transformation
configuration. Reverse transformations enable you to recover
changes to the model or recover changes to source code. This process is useful
when the model and code are developed concurrently.
Specifying alternate file names for UML-to-Java transformation output If
you enable the reverse transformation when you create or edit a Java-to-UML
transformation configuration, you can select and configure mapping models
that you created for other UML-to-Java transformations. Mapping models enable
you to specify alternate files names for output that the UML-to-Java transformation
generates. The mapping model that you specify must exist in the current workspace.
