About Locations on Activities

In the Work Order TrackingActivitiesChangesReleases (SP) application, you can add a location to an  work orderactivitychangerelease that specifies where you provide services. If the added location is associated with a primary customer,  the customer is associated with the work orderactivitychangerelease. If the added location is associated with a service address, the service address is added  to the work orderactivitychangerelease.

About adding a location to an  work orderactivitychangerelease

• After you add a location to an  work orderactivitychangerelease, the primary customer for the location is associated with the work orderactivitychangerelease. The status of the primary customer must be active. You cannot add a location to an  work orderactivitychangerelease if the primary customer for the location is not active. • The customer charge account and customer cost center for the location are added to the work orderactivitychangerelease.

• The service address for the location is added to the work orderactivitychangerelease. See the service address on the Service Address tab. For more information about associating a location and service address, see the Locations (SP) help.

• A location can be added for an asset that you add to the Asset field, if there is a location associated with the asset.

• To apply a customer agreement or price schedule to the work orderactivitychangerelease, the location that you add must have an active, primary customer associated with it.

About modifying a location on an  work orderactivitychangerelease:

• The service address for the new location is copied to the work orderactivitychangerelease.

• You might have modified the service address for the location that you replaced. If so, a dialog box is displayed, giving you the choice to keep the modified service address or use the service address of the new location.

• The new location might be associated with a different customer than was associated with the original location. If so, you can change the location only if you first remove the customer agreement applied to the work orderactivitychangerelease.

• The customer charge account and customer cost center for the new location are copied to the work orderactivitychangerelease.
