Customer Agreements and Activities

You apply a customer agreement and an associated price schedule to an activity in the Activities and Tasks (SP) application. Customer agreements are agreements between you and your customers and contain the following information:

Before you apply a customer agreement to an activity, you must associate a customer with the activity. The customer on the activity can be the customer who is responsible for the location, asset, or configuration item (CI) on the activity. If there is not a location, asset, or configuration item with a customer on the activity, you can add a customer directly in the Customer field. You can also overwrite the customer that was selected from the location, asset, or configuration item.

Matching criteria

You can apply an agreement and price schedule that have conditions that match data on the activity. The activity must have the customer. In addition, the customer agreement price schedule must be applicable to activities. Price schedules are selected based on conditions that match information on the activity. If more than one price schedule is applicable, a ranking value on the price schedule is used. In this case, the price schedule with the highest rank (the lowest numeric value) is applied.

Tasks associated with the activity inherit an applied price schedule. Child work orders and follow-up work orders do not inherit this price schedule. However, child work orders and follow-up work orders might have separate price schedules applied to them.

Price schedules

After you apply a price schedule, it is used to calculate prices for cost transactions on the activity and its tasks. The price schedule can apply pricing rules to labor, materials, tools, and services transactions. It also can specify additional fees and charges, such as management, incentive, or penalty fees. You can enter additional fees on the Fees and Charges tabs. You cannot modify fixed fees that were added by a price schedule.
